Amazing Wedding - love this hotel

Where do I start - every part of this hotel, the staff, the rooms, the food are amazing. Our wedding on 10/10/2020 wasnt what was originally planned but with the help of the amazing wedding coordinator Lisa it was the best day ever, Lisa has such an eye for detail and is a crfedit to the hotel. As is Connor, he made sure our day ran smoothly always checking if there was anything else we needed - nothing was any toruble. We will be returning and cant wait The biggest THANK YOU to you all from the bottom of our hearts - Mr & Mrs Wilson

You knocked it out of the park!

The staff at this lovely hotel are what truly makes this place so special and one of the reasons my daughter Melissa and her fiancé Jim decided on it as their wedding venue. They met at the university and spent quite a few lunch dates and evening meals here. I was overjoyed at their decision having used the hotel as a base camp for the many visits I made to see them as it borders the university campus and was really handy for them popping across. The staff have always made me feel welcome and very comfortable on previous visits as often I would have to visit on my own with my younger daughter whilst my husband was working but I was always made to feel very relaxed and with the spa I found it was the perfect place to spend some of the school holidays. Wedding plans started to take shape last Christmas and wedding fairs and venues were visited, because of the sentiment attached to the place both Melissa and Jim felt that Lancaster House meant the most to them so we asked for quotes and hoped for a nice big wedding. 1st Lockdown hit and everything was halted. Why rush? Then Jim was invited to go for a promotion at his HQ, this happened to be in Lucerne, Switzerland. He was successful and all of a sudden there was a mad rush! Because of visa issues Melissa would only be allowed to apply for a visa in her own right as Jim's spouse, otherwise she could only stay for 3 months which they really didn't want. We had just over 5 weeks to get everything done and at this point didn't even know if it was possible. The registrar's needed an appointment and luckily could do one in 5 days time requiring proof of identity and also proof of living in the district. After that meeting it would take 29 days for notice to be served. I rang Lancaster House and first spoke with the lovely Lisa, their wedding coordinator and we worked out a date which we could give to the registrar's of 23rd October allowing for the 29 days notice the registrar's required and giving Melissa and Jim literally 7 days to pack up after their wedding before they flew off to Switzerland and their new life. It was completely crazy and in all of this the guest list dropped from 30 guests to 15 then no wedding breakfast was allowed but Lisa and Andy, the amazing hotel manage, kept us completely calm through it all, and we finally arrived on 22nd October to settle Melissa into the Silverdale bridal suite whilst we dressed the Dalton suite where the wedding was to take place. Lisa and Connor were on hand all day and so lovely, nothing was any trouble and we had it looking absolutely beautiful very quickly with photos of Grandparents that couldn't attend because of the small numbers allowed. Our bubble of 6 had a private spa moment at 6pm in the outdoor jacuzzi, then enjoyed the sauna and pool and Anne Marie was absolutely brilliant in making us feel so at home and completely safe. After everything we were all feeling very relaxed and ready for a nice dinner and walking down the stairs we were all charmed by the flickering candles and the warm, welcoming fire as the night drew in, it really made the hotel experience extra special and quite magical. On the morning we breakfasted early and had a really lovely chat to Connor in the restaurant. Both he and Lisa are an absolute credit to this beautiful hotel, the staff here couldn't be nicer. The wedding went like clockwork and we couldn't recommend this place highly enough! It was their last wedding of the season and I think a lot of the staff made it such huge success under such difficult circumstances. A massive Thank you to everyone involved, you were all brilliant!!! I can't wait to come back and have everything crossed that you are allowed to reopen after the 16th December.
