Avoid if you canStayed in room 113 which is a standard double. I had about an hour sleep. I've stayed in more comfortable hostels. The bed was like sleeping on raised concrete with no headboard, the space between the bed and the tiny table was so small that you couldn't use the chair. The TV was also on the table so if you wanted to watch anything you had to sit at the end of the bed with your back against the wall. The room is so small that there is no bedside table on either side, so no bedside lamp either. There are a couple of premier inns not far from the university that are cheaper and FAR more comfortable. Highly recommend that you avoid this if you are staying on your own or perhaps see if any of the other rooms are better. What's annoying is that as I was checking out I wasn't asked how my stay was and I had to volunteer the above information.

It was okayStayed one night with my family. Room was comfortable and big enough for a family of 4. Toilet was clean. Parkings free. Staff were friendly too. Location is good for parents visiting their children (student) or business related in Uxbridge.

Poor spa serviceI've had the holiday from hell!!! I came here for a relaxing spa trip, but much to my disappointment me and my friend were informed it is full and to wait for the one person to go amd wait for our space, so we did. The spa shuts to general public at 7pm and we had areived at 5:45. So we waited as informed. Half an hour we check and find the guy ahead of us still waiting and an hour and 10 minutes waiting we check again to find that apparently the lady at the front desk had informed us that 3 new people had areived and were now ahead of us and now shut to the public. 2 people had come out and they let in the guy ahead of us and the 2 new people whilst forgetting we existed and then told it was shut to us. I dont see how you can forget two peoples faces after only speaking to a small handful people in an hour. Absolutely terrible service (Fuming).

Basic Facilities, Bad LocationWas here for four days in March. I had known that it was located on university campus and the photos on TripAdvisor looked fairly okay so I booked. The experience was not really good. The room was really really small, even by London standard and so was the bathroom. There is hardly any space between the bed and the tiny table provided so you can't really use the chair. You have to sit on the bed to use the table. Not that you can use the table for anything as the TV is also on the table along with the tea tray with only a few inches between them. If you want to watch the TV you'll need to sit at the end of the bed with your back against the wall. The room is so small that you have to slide the bed to the other end to get some space to change clothes. Having said this, the room was clean, linen fresh to start with (They didn't change the sheets even once in four days), housekeeping done every day, and staff was good, nice friendly and polite. There is a bar and a dining room below which is fairly well furnished though the Lunch/dinner menu is really small and food is bad. Breakfast is fine though, typical english breakfast which remains the same throughout with no change and no options. There's a spa but I did not check it out. The location is about 20 minutes walk from the city center or you take a bus. There are no visible restaurants around the campus and the hotel dining ends at 9.30 pm so if you reach hotel after that, be prepared to go hungry. The staff also leaves so on one can guide you as well. There are a couple of premier inns right in city center and a few not far from the university that are cheaper, more spacious and comfortable. I recommend you choose Lancaster only as a last resort.
