  Really Recommended

  From the outset we have no hesitation in recommending this very pleasant Hotel. It is situated on a hillside near to the Eppan village of St. Michael (some 15 minutes walk away) and Eppan, or Appiano as it is also known is a set of villages some 8 km south of the town of Bolzano. The Hotel, set in secluded grounds, has excellent views across Eppan to the Dolomite Mountains. A realively new Hotel, I found the rooms spacious with comfortable beds and well furnished, and a modern flat Screen TV (100+ channels). The Hotel staff were very helpful and polite. It should be realised that although situated in Italy, most of the local Population speak German as their first or second language. However, enough of the Hotel staff spoke sufficent English as well! The breakfast buffet was good and well stocked. The evening meals were a varied 5 course dinner, again very good Food, and the waitress Service was prompt. The Hotel has both an indoor and outdoor Swimming pools, Sauna, massage facilities, but as I did not use them, we cannot comment. Overall, we had a good week's stay at this Hotel, the Food was good, the rooms were comfortable, and the Service also very good, and we recommend this Hotel to you!!

  Good location and value

  Stayed here for 2 nights and had nice buffet breakfasts and dinners included in rate. Food was very good. Although room was OK, we had been promised renovated rooms which we did not get. Hotel staff not available after 10 pm. Property is nice and restaurant staff was very nice and attentive.

  Clean and good food but difficult location and huge language barrier.

  The hotel is very clean, efficient and food is really good. However, none of the information is in English except a small welcome card in the room. No information about food, meal times or transport is in English. I was here as a lone female and needed to get to Bolzano and back every day. This was very problematic as I dont speak Italian or German and there is very little English spoken in the hotel. I was in the area for an international conference attended by 3000 people with English as the official language of the conference. This will have generated significant extra income to the local economy. When I booked the hotel I checked whether there was transport or buses and was assured that it was easy by bus or the hotel would provide transport. It is definitely not easy. If you catch an evening bus, the hotel is half an hour walk from the bus stop, uphill. When I arrived I rang the hotel to be collected from Bolzano with a large suitcase. I could not make myself understood and ended up paying 35 euros for a taxi. I tried getting the bus back the next three nights but the bus station gave wrong information about the times and each bus seemed to take a different route. I was lost in the dark in the mountain village two nights in a row and rescued by very kind strangers. I didnt feel welcome as an English person here. Bolzano is trying hard to attract large conferences and exhibitions but local hotels like this have a long way to go to cater for English speaking business people visiting its city.
