Beautiful locationWe loved our stay at this quaint hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the swimming pool and gardens were beautiful. We stayed in an A/C Deluxe room and we had the most stunning views of the sunset and the other island across the water from our balcony. Every morning we watched the fisherman working on the boats from the comfort of our room. The hotel restaurant was very good and the staff were very helpful and friendly. There was a Muay Thai gym at the far end of the hotel which was great to watch, I had never even see this sport before and it really added to our Thai cultural experience. All in all a lovely experience and would recommend this friendly hotel if you are on the island.

Great Location To Train Muay ThaiIf you are looking for a good no a great Muay Thai experience this is a great place to stay. KYN Muay Thai gym is on the grounds with world class Muay Thai fighters & training. It is located right on the water. If you want to fight in the stadiums or if you are a beginner they will also teach you but you will still have to work hard, listen & not be timid to be yelled at occasionally ! The hotel is perfect for fighters, quiet & secluded, the lounge is a great hang out for the fighters to bond & create some great life long friendships. A nice pool, great Thai food at the restaurant they also hooked us up with a Thai massage place down the street, scooters & excursions. I couldn't think of a better training set up. There were other couples there too & the fighters in the lounge were not intimidating meatheads but friendly sociable types from all walks of life & places, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, The Netherlands, Sweden, France, USA, Germany & the UK

need badly some improvementspros : owner (Lisa) has been very friendly with us. Location is fantastic : sunset and swimming pool is great. cons : this place has a lot of things to do to improve. let me provide our experience. - no welcome drinks - food : from average to bad. we had good muesli and fried rice at breakfast, but pad thai with an horrible taste that we had to turn back, a coffee from average filtered cofee to very bad (taste again), and a beef burger without beef (kitchen staff forgot the beef !!!). We also have been warned on our first day that they were out of beef burgers...30 minutes after we ordered it... - food weekly/monthly deal : do not includes lunch (???) and do not includes coffee at breakfast (????). we ended up eating in a very good small restaurant every day at 2 min walks from the hotel - champoo/soap has not been refilled in 1 week - no bottle of waters are provided. - bathroom had many ants (not a big deal for us but worth mentioning) - During 3 days water in the room was yellow with a sulfuric smell (!!!) then white for one day, then we had one day were they restarted the pump and water was red and brown untill the owner came for help and ran it for like 10 minutes so it could come back to "normal". They badly need a filtering system. - after 3 days our towels were still not changed - shower head needs replacement or cleaning (they were as brown than white). - middle management is not very helpful. we mentioned her our problems and replies was vague (ie "we are on an island", "we are a muay thai camp", "cleaning lady is young and new", "ok i will report it to the boss". I had to go myself and ask cleaning ladies to give us new towels/toilet papers (they give it immediately) while middle manager was still sitting having a drink - she failed on the price given through emails and when we arrived she spent 20 minutes to sort out the "new price" (a little bit higher). That was a very bad first experience. - we payed all our stay upfront then she requested a 2k baht deposit per bedrooms. this was never mentioned to us... not a big amount but still it was a bad surprise - when i listed all the problems on our arrival, she admitted them. Then l asked her for a commercial gesture to compensate (ie : a free private lesson). She refused but told me she will offer me a beer. I stayed one week there and i am still waiting for it... We looked for another accommodation during our stay on the island and found much better places for similar or lower price. We ended up deciding to stay and "suffer" in this hotel as we were only staying 1 week and were going to a very good place for 2 weeks after that one.

Its what you want!!Me and my mate from Tasmania (Australia) checked in here on Monday. We were looking for a bit of a Muay Thai camp/retreat and stumbled across this one on the web. ( it looked more relaxed and fun than other camps/retreats) Welcomed by other really friendly travellers and friendly staff just chilling out in the common room hut (super chilled) which backs onto the K.Y.N gym and seconds as the restaurant dining. We jumped straight into the training which runs twice a day! And it's exactly what I needed, the trainers will go at your pace but also give you the push you need! There is a shop close by and a massage place as well....and the lam sai Food in delicious!! Would highly recommend for solo or group travellers, spend a few days or spend a 3 months, get healthy, relax and learn Muay Thai! Yiew!!
