  This is a very nice resort with great views of the Cheat Lake and Lakeview Golf Resort. It is difficult to find if coming at night as the hotel was closed and some of the lights in the driveway are out. I would recommend arriving in the daylight and before the office closes at 4:30 p.m.. If coming later make sure you call and know the resort sits behind the hotel on the hill. We really enjoyed our stay with the beautiful views, hiking along the river and at the West Virginia Botanical Gardens.

  Definitely not good although not too bad

  If you want to be on your own it is the place. The unit was OK but almost no service. There is nothing to do around during the winter. There are some very good trails in the state parks and forests in vicinity.

  No staff wore masks

  I would have loved to recommend this place. Its a great location. Though the units are a bit worn, they are very comfortable. The staff was welcoming and, by the standards of any other year, kind and competent. However, despite a state mandate and industry standards, none of the five employees we encountered wore a mask. This included the check in staff who got very close to us in order to get signatures. Less than an hour away, a hospital was bringing in refrigerator trucks for all the COVID bodies. The risk was real and high. We had thought this would be a goodCOVID escape, as the units all open outside and you never have to mix with other people. We did enjoy a lovely visit to a nearby botanical gardens. But the lack of masks by staff placed us at unacceptable risk. We left early.

  Wonderful service

  We made arrangements for our stay in the resort with Tyler for an event she is the event coordinator there. She let us email, call and text her she tried to make everything as uncomplicated as possible. She was also the one who was there to check us in and she is absolutely wonderful. The event staff was very professional and friendly. They wore masks and gloves the entire time. There was hand sanitizer available and we had an over all great stay. We hope to come back soon.

  Banquet

  Awesome staff, very nice and accommodating with all our needs! Pool was super fun for the kiddos! Food was excellent! Rooms were very nice! Perfect location, with awesome views and close to fun stuff in the area!
