  Caravaning. Friendliness at it's best. Lake Leake.

  Certainly not Big 4 caravan park but if you want peace and solitude with a back to nature location you could not go past this delightful place. Local pub is friendliest I have ever struck with the locals going out of their way to make us feel welcome. Meals are top class at very reasonable prices. Don't miss it !!!! Graham and Dianne.

  Simple pleasures

  if you're looking for a peaceful retreat, a tranquil location and a warm friendly welcome then this is the place. A clean and comfortable adequately equipped (washing machine included) though simple hut with a log burner that warmed the place up within minutes. Amazing views over the lake with plenty of bird life, including Bob, the resident goose!

  Beautiful location BUT

  In its heyday it would have been fabulous with fishing (were told no fish in the lake) etc. But it is very tired and worn out! We washed up all plates and utensils before use. Mishmash of plates and the coffee mugs were dirty. Not much in the way of cooking equipment eg one saucepan, nothing to use in the microwave. It would be great if there was a BBQ outside and table and chairs. Take own water as tank water was not recommended for cooking with or drinking!! It is still a beautiful location but very basic!

  Could be five star for some

  Lake Yealeena Cabins was chosen by our travel agent for a two night stay on our tour of eastern Tassie. maybe it was because we wanted to stay in places with fires. There was nothing else to attract us to stay. However if one was looking for peace and solitude in simple comfort then this could be THE place for you. Just don't expect quality in furnishings (although the bed was comfortable) or the kitchen equipment. it is all a mish mash of stuff. Not enough and little matches. The place is old and tired and i think it may not be too popular which has led to the downward cycle. But as I said this could suit some people.

  Great place

  Step back in time to this great 1970s cabin. So quite looking over the lake. Darryl was a great host. Waking up with white goose at the back door sliding door. If you want to take a break from all the hustle, stay here for basic accommodation. Hardly internet service which was awesome. Made our damily play board games. Only a 50min drive to Nat Park.
