Southern CharmCharming property and home located just far enough away to still be in the country and be able to enjoy going into town for dinner. We slept well and, having lived near a train track previously, the sound of the train was somewhat comforting - like a sign that everything was fine and going as planned. However, if you're a light sleeper, there are free ear plugs in a container on the upstairs hallway buffet table. There was a full house the weekend we were there and the other guest were very pleasant to visit with at breakfast, which consisted of coffee, orange juice, fresh fruit, egg quiche, crispy bacon, and cheesy potato casserole. Lynn spent time explaining the history of the area to us after breakfast and later we hiked the Allatoona Pass area enjoying the early start of spring.

Nice Historical HomeUpon this visit, I was traveling with my husband and two teenage sons. This B&B is a nice place to stay. With that said, the owners are a little sensitive when asked questions about the upkeep of the Inn. But the house and the area is dripping with history which make this Inn very sought after and is conveniently located across the road from the public parking for Allatoona Lake and historical former railroad and old horse carriage walking trails. The B&B is very well kept. Private parking is in a gated area on property which was great because we felt safe parking. Although the house is located across from public lake access, huge white wooden fencing surrounded the front of the home which help make the Inn have that secluded feel. The property is well kept. The historical wood work is beautiful. Historical facts are posted through out the home for quick information. Upon arrival, we walked up to the huge beautiful wooden front door. Lee (one of the owners) texted us our front door code in advance, which we used to enter the house and our room door code because all the doors are keyless entry. Lee allowed us early arrival which was very nice of her. We were greeted by an eager and friendly employee who accidentally showed us the wrong room at first. After a short conversation we realized that was not the room we were to stay in. She then showed us immediately to our room. It was not a problem for us. Either room was fine with us. She did very briefly show us a few things about our suite before leaving so she could prepare for other arriving guests. We stayed in General Corse's Suite. This suite had two rooms plus a private bathroom. It had a huge king bed with a beautiful antique spindle post bed. The suite also had a sitting room with a queen foldout couch, original fireplace, wall to wall / ceiling to ceiling window hand crafted beautiful two closet unit. Lee kindly provided a twin fold up bed so our teenage sons did not have to share a bed which we found in one of the closets. The suite had a private step up bathroom with heated floors and toilet seat. It also had a huge walk in shower and a step up soaking jet tub in front of a huge stain glass window. The bathroom was bright and airy. The suite is attached to a shared front porch with nice rocking chairs. We did not meet the owners in person until the next morning. The owners ate breakfast with personal house guests at the table next to us. Conversation between my family and the owners were friendly but very brief. Breakfast was very nice. It was buffet style that consisted of bacon, eggs, fruit, grits, biscuits and gravy, pancakes and syrup, cereal, milk, coffee and orange juice. Our family had a nice stay at the Inn.

Wonderful relaxing experience. This was our second time to stay in the Cartersville area. The first time we stayed at a nice hotel but this time we decided to do something different. The Lake Allatoona Inn was our surprising excellent choice. We have always appreciated older homes and this one was a nicely kept period home with great period furniture. The owners were friendly and all about making our stay a good one. This was a normal bed and breakfast inn with a good varied continental breakfast Monday-Friday and a full breakfast on the weekend. It was great to relax on the porch with the sounds of nature around you. I would definitely stay again. The cost is comparable to an average hotel in that area.

Quaint, Comfortable, ConvenientLove this B&B. The inn has a peaceful, quiet setting that is an easy drive to Cartersville or Acworth. If you are coming for lake activities or the civil war battlefield this would be a fantastic location. Lynn Smith, the innkeeper is friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was perfect. We will definitely come back.

Nice but needs more attention to client comforts.Bed mattresses sorely need replacing(people with bad backs or bad hips need not apply). The breakfast selection needs updating and the cook needs to be fired or sent back to school (I wouldn't serve the Crust less Quiche Lorraine to county jail inmates). Finally, the lady bug infestation needs to be addressed. I realize that Lady Bugs are common in the southern states but you can count these bugs per square inch (to the point where you can find them all over the light bulbs). Other than that the place is Very Nice. If I were using Priceline bidding... In its current state... max $105.
