This is one of the best hotels where I've been!!This hotel is located deep area of a mountain. There's nothing any convenience stores or other daily use of shops, however, you'll definitely enjoy the calm and nice atmosphere, hot spring, free ice creams and drinks, luxury facilities in your room and public space. the buffet in the morning was just amazing. Actually, this hotel have other hotel where is famous for the first or second prize of morning (buffet) breakfast in Japan, but it is so famous that we couldn't enjoy enough coz of the mess of people. At this point, this place is a little bit harder to go, so we had good time all our staying.

Spacious room, comfy bed, nice facilities, helpful staff, great food. After climbing mount Asahidake it was amazing to just soak in the private onsen. It was July 2018 and for the summer temperature of low 20s it was still onsen friendly, specially coming from a mountain where it was around 10°. The room has aircon despite the reservation saying the opposite, and apparently it is smoking friendly too despite saying otherwise. It is expensive (we paid around 42,000 iene plus some extra drinks at dinner) but as far is it goes for Japan hotels it is definitely a good deal. The room is really nice in wood and cosy.

Spacious and comfortable bedHotel was clean and spacious. A delicious dinner at the hotel was included. The hotel is situated in the middle of nowhere with no place to visit after dinner. Onsen is available in the hotel. We stayed in the hotel as it was close to the Daisetsuzen Ropeway which we went in the morning

Christmas DayWe checked in for one night on Christmas day - what a wonderful, Christmassy place to stay. Up in the hills, surrounded by nothing but snow (though only a short 10 minute walk to the ropeway), it was warm, snug, cosy and perfect for Christmas. The foyer has an open fire, plenty of seating, and complimentary hot drinks. We had a great dinner in the French restaurant - the food was of high quality and delcious, and the buffet breakfast was excellent with high-quality ingredients. They had also constructed an ice bar just outside the entrance, which was excellent and we enjoyed a hot drink there. The onsen was wonderful - especially the outdoors one where we enjoyed the hot water whilst surrounded by snow. The rooms were a bit tired and dated in their furnishings, but were still clean and comfortable - and given everything else on offer, we didn't spend much time in our room. I appreciated the coffee beans, grinder, and filters that they provided for making your own fresh coffee. Really loved this place, it has a comfortable, relaxed feel to it, with nice staff and great food.

An Alpine lodge at the foot of Mount AsahidakeThe hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Ropeway and there are plenty of walks in the immediate surroundings. It does look like an Alpine lodge with lots of exposed wooden beams. Rooms are a good size. The Onsen is excellent. We ate in the Japanese restaurant one evening and the French restaurant the next and the food in both was of a very high standard. Some of the fabric of the hotel is showing slight signs of wear, but that is a minor issue and the hospitality of the staff more than makes up for this.
