    Amazing!

Good restaurant in an amazing countryside . If you love the tranquility and good food it is the ideal place. to make things even more romantic , there are many paths that you can take to admire breathtaking views. The food is great and cooked with great care . the meat (of the pig bred by them) is very good . The onion soup and amazing risotto unforgettable . if you like animals, you can also have an incredible experience with just born pigs and baby sheeps! all was perfect!

    Superb in every way

We were driving in the mountains, and were looking for somewhere to eat. We'd planned on a roadside cafe, but finally stumbled across this place. It's fantastic. The terrace is lovely, and the views are amazing, but the food was the real surprise. From the beer brewed in a microbrewery just up the hill, to the pork and lamb from pigs and sheep bred on the farm, everything is spot on. The food is very simple, but beautifully presented and cooked, and excellent value for money. We weren't staying at the hotel, but we were told we could hang out in the garden or by the pool if we wanted. We would seriously consider coming back and staying here. A fantastic serendipitious find.

    We love staying here!

It was our second time in La Tavola Dei Cavalieri and we loved it even more now then the first time, 4 years ago. The people who make sure your stay is excellent are superb! Friendly, helpful, ... everything you want. The two chefs (Filippo & Mario) are very good in what they do. The food is yummy!!! We ate on different locations in Italy - some very disappointing..but here, everything was always a delight and a treat! (do try the apple tart, the panna cotta with lavender oil, the hamburgers, all the pasta's, the eggs, the beer...everything was so good! Also a big plus: you can stay for lunch as well. The lady who was in charge of the rooms made sure that it was tidy and clean, every day. She did a very good job! The venue itself is also very clean. The restaurant has an amazing view so you are instant happy when you wake up and have breakfast here. We laid in the sun, by the swimming pool but did not went in it because it was to cold for the time of the year (probably). But nevertheless a very nice pool with an amazing view in the back. And then there was Victor. A very friendly person who made sure everything for our stay was ok, who brought our food to the table, who even prepared lunch for us, who was always happy,...also a great man! We hope to return someday because this place, the people, the food, the rooms and the venue are excellent! (make sure to visit the donkey, the chickens and the black pigs ;) (on your way up in Assisi, watch out because the road might not be all that. Sometimes you have to slalom between the holes in the road, so you don't damage the car...)

    Fantastic County Retreat!

This place is amazing! Beautifully set in the mountains where peace and serenity abound. The Hotelier Victor is an amazing person that will go to any length to ensure your absolute satisfaction. Our room was very comfortable as are all the facilities on site. It is very evident that a tremendous investment has be made to assure guest satisfaction. The drive up the mountain is a bit demanding, but persevere and you will be well rewarded.

    Not What we Expected

Visited La Tavola dei Cavalieri 9 years ago with my husband and we LOVED it!! We would highly recommended this place to anyone heading to the area. Came back to Italy with my family this September and we really wanted to take them here. Well this place has really gone downhill over the years. Not at all the same place and not nearly the same service we experienced 9 years ago. Our welcome was a quick 30 seconds here are your keys and these are your rooms and walked away. We have stayed at many Agriturismos over the years and we are always provided with at least the basics - what time meals are served at, if we need to make reservations for dinner, how to get towels for the pool, wifi info, maybe a map of the area, etc. Rooms were both on the second level. They were clean and both had a nice view. The grounds have not been well kept which is a real shame. Outdoor furniture needs an update. A few pieces were so rusty that we didnt want to sit on them. We were really looking forward to enjoying the pool which was full of green algae. The winds were strong the night before and knocked over the umbrellas by the pool onto the lounge furniture. When we went out around noon, nothing had been fixed so we had to clean it up ourselves so we could use the space. All the bikes were apparently out for service for a day but they never showed up during our 3 days there. Wifi only works in the restaurant and reaches a couple close tables on the patio. Does not reach the rooms. TVs in both rooms also didnt work. After reading the reviews (unfortunately after this stay) many other guests have complained about these issues. Clearly the hotel doesnt care to fix or improve these things. Asked for info regarding trails and walking paths but they didnt get back to us until the second time we asked and they said there was a small church 5 mins down the hill.... We were celebrating my husbands birthday while we were there and I had sent an email over 2 weeks before we arrived to see if we could do anything special...even just a small cake at dinner...they didnt even respond to my email. Breakfast was minimal. A number of small cake options all made with the same cake batter. No fruit. The chef made us scrambled eggs two of the mornings which were good. Wasnt an option on the third morning... We had lunch there once and the chef was great!! Food was delicious. The beer was also very good. Comes from a small local brewery. La Tavola dei Cavalieri is a 20 minute drive on a pretty bad road from Assisi. Narrow, curvy, steep roads with pot holes. If this was the same place I experienced 9 yrs ago I would say it was worth it....now...well there is no shortage of Agriturismo options in the area.
