    Not good!

I stayed for three nights with my girlfriend. At first impression I was pleased. The hotel has free private parking, a nice garden, and a little pool. We had a room on the second floor. At first, this also looked ok, but then came the night. It was terrebly warm, and no aircon. No sleep. Then in the morning I went to take a shower. No waterpreassure and no hot water. I dont like to complain, but I like my daily shower. I asked if we could change to another room, but the lady in the reception said they where fully booked. That was a lie. We hardly saw people there at all, and all the roomkeyes hang on display behind the counter. We went on a daytrip to Siena. When we came back the room was "cleaned", meaning the bed was made and the towels, who acctually where bedsheets, was changed. Flor and bathroom was not cleaned at all. Sorry La Speranza, but stay away people.

    Bad experience !

The plan was to finish a fanatastic 2 weeks holiday i Umbria with 3 nights at La Speranza for exploring Pisa. Lucca and their surroundings. Ended as a very bad experience and only one night in the hotel. Before going to Italy we bought 3 nights thru one of the companys sending discount offers by email and paid about 100 euro for the stay. Agree - this is cheap for three nights incl. breakfast. First of all we didn't realize from the offer that the hotel was placed so far from Pisa - our fault, but still. Arriving in the afternoon after driving from Umbria, we meet a hotel that could look as if it needed some brushing up and a women at the reception not as good in English as expected from a hotel reception, but we got our key for the room. Arriving at a very simple and not very nice looking room, we were a bit surprised to see an open door, not just unlocked, but wide open just as the window in the room. Later we found out why :-( Two televisions, one old hanging on the wall and a flatscreen standing on the table, but for no use as it was impossible to see anything on the flickering screen. After a couple of hours drive I needed to use the toilet. Using it went ok, but flushing out didn't work. No water running into the toilet nor into the cistern. So had to use the waste bin to pour water into the toilet. Went to the reception to tell them about the problem, but the lady didn't really understand what the problem was, but we were lucky that a young women was standing there and could translate into Italian. Went out to get a little to eat and found a nice cafe at the center of the town, had some nice sandwiches and went back to the hotel, expecting something has been done about the toilet problem, but nothing has happen and by the smell from the toilet, we found out why the door and the window had been wide open at arrival.Considering to leave the hotel right away and find something else, but would give a chance and stayed. Rested for some hours until its was times for going out for dinner. After a nice dinner at the same cafe, there was still no change in the toilet situation, so we decided to only stay one night and move on the next morning after breakfast. The breakfast wasn't to bad and was served by a very nice and happily singing waiter. Too bad the rest of the experience of the hotel couldn't stand up to that. Not a place we would recommend !

    Your Tuscany dream

LIve at hotel La Speranza is like living in a movie from the 1970, it´s clean, pale colours and friendly staff. You eat your breakfast out on the terrace, and have the Tuscany hills just ner the hotel.

Stay more than one night!! Enjoy.

We stayed here for 5 nights and it was 30dec + every day. The hotel is like being in a 1970 movie and I have read lots of reports about this hotel and I am a 5 star traveller but if you leave after one night you have not given this hotel the chance to show its really good side. The whole of Italy is sun bleached which gives the country its charm. Be real about what you are paying!! The hotel has free parking. The breakfast is made by the waiter who never stops singing and will help all he can. The garden and pool are ok. The rooms do have some strange thngs for me linen towels (take your own if you do not like this I did) No air conditioning (but large windows that open) The bed linen is changed and room cleaned every day. We had hot water every day. Wi-fi in reception but not in all of the hotel. A fridge in every room. Hairdryer etc. Easy walking to all the shops. Well worth a visit at the price.

"All hope abandon, ye who enter in!"

The worst hotel, which I've ever stayed in. I'm really sorry for writing this bad review, 'cause I am aware that people work in there and maybe they even put some efforts, but you cannot relate this place to a hotel. The pictures on the internet show only the prettiest rooms, not compliant with reality. Rooms and the whole location are pretty aged and crumbling, not very cleaned (rooms were tidied up only at arrival and towels never changed: they even had some spots of rust on, which I believed was blood) and there's no air conditioning nor working TV at all. There's no welcome at arrival, we were given keys to enter late at night, with neither light at the hall nor anyone to call in case of emergency. Moving on to breakfast, we were told, there would have been a continental buffet...only some croissants, couple slices of cheese and ham and really ripe fruit.. This stay left me and the other guests speechless, despite it was cheap. Nevertheless, I cannot justify the lack of service because of the quality/price ratio, even though we can't really mention quality. We complained at the front desk immediately at the arrival, but nothing changed. You should really consider your guests' complaints in order to improve and meet the 3-star-Hotel requirements, which you think you are. I do not recommend staying here, neither for a couple of days.
