Terrible let down!First of all, the photos on the booking sites DO NOT match the reality of the situation. The hotel is very poorly maintained and simply dirty. However, this is not where the trouble ends. We booked the Presidential Suite which at the time was marketed as a two bedroom, living room and kitchen apartment, this however, was not the case. The room consisted of kitchen/living room, one bedroom and two beds on a corridor with no widows. To add on top of the subpar standard, the room was just not what we had paid for. After a very unpleasant conversation with the manager we managed to win back our money. We agreed to pay for one night, even though we did not stay there, and escaped the hotel! Bottom line is: the hotel is not what it pretends to be online! Don't be fooled.

La Rosa Sul MareThis hotel had a great view by the sea, but service sucks. Customers were not valued, staff and the owner of the place were really rude. We are middle aged customers and used to customer oriented service. This place was not passengers waiting for replication for their money!

SeptemberWe spent a week at La Rosa sul Mare. The place has wonderful views. The colour of the sea is absolutely amazing. La rosa sul mare is not a hotel, so do not expect hotel service. The staff are pleasant and it was clean. You can eat in if you tell the staff in advance. Breakfast cost 10 Euros each. We had a great time most of the time until a group of Russians arrived. They were noisy, playing loud music at the beach and they didn't have any consideration for the other guests. Pity!

Dont expect too much but be fairExterior is great. Views, pool, sea access. All good. But the rooms and the plumbing need some renovation. Room was humid, even in June. Towels, bed clothes were damp, including our clothes. Lots of hot water, in fact too hot to the point it could inflict some harm to more sensitive skin. Not really any cold water. The guy at reception did come to try and fix it twice, but my guess is that its the general plumbing that needs an overhaul. Breakfast is average and mostly spoiled by the incessant flys which they do try to distract with fly traps. Once there we read the reviews and do understand some comments about the staff. But I think its a family run business and whilst they were not unfriendly, their approach did lack some warmth and customer orientated skills. But they did their best to help us with restaurant reservations and advice. So we cant fault them for that. Although my partner is Italian so perhaps the language helped. Its advertised as 4 star but is really missing quite a few elements to live up to this if international travelers come here. The sun loungers are plastic and there are no mattresses - making sun mattresses available would help make a stay here more comfortable. Maybe also a pool bar service and some readily available food (food has to be ordered 1 hour in advance). They have a great terrace area both beside the pool and at reception which could be used to serve drinks and food and this would lift the level quite a lot to make a stay more enjoyable. The WiFi works but you have to log in every single time which makes it frustrating. Having said all that we did enjoy our stay but would only come back if the rooms got renovated and the plumbing fixed. Its all about expectation management. They could do so much more with this place to make it great as the sea views and tranquillity are the best points of this hotel. Perhaps a change of owner who has more enthusiasm would help lift the reviews.
