2 years and still great - with a few changes! After a 2 year lull, we were in Bellevue again. This time we brought others and collectively we stayed in both 2 bedrooms. Room 21 is on the front side which I prefer. It's nice to look out and see what is happening along the sidewalk. This one has two chairs, couch, dining room, full kitchen (including stove/oven), one bathroom, nice work table for your computer. One bedroom contains a king bed while the second has a queen. One television (living room). The 2nd 2-bedroom fronts the rear and while probably quieter, the two "problem" areas is that you might hear the trash trucks when they pick up things and the master bedroom has sound issues when the elevator is in use. This was quickly we got over after the first day. This also has the full kitchen, 1 bathroom, queen and king beds. Where it differs is the inclusion of a fireplace, one recliner instead of 2 chairs and a beautiful roll top desk. (My brother said they should install a power strip as plugging things in was problematic). Improvement: MUCH BETTER breakfast offerings. Not sure if it's because we woke up earlier but we had more to choose from. Downside: NO HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE!!! They eliminated this over the past 2 years and while the majority of parking is just as close, it became problematic when the hotel was full and no space was available close to the door. While I can understand somewhat the reason not to have this taking up empty space sometimes, I wonder if they can mount a temporary handicapped sign when needed by a guest. Other Pluses: 1. Very friendly staff 2. Small exercise room 3. BBQ grill on the 2nd floor terrace. 4. Washer and Dryer (fee for this) 5. Right across the street from the parking garage that's connected to the Bellevue Mall. 6. Nice stroll to the nearby Park. 7. Down the street from a QFC supermarket for those that want to utilize the cooking options in the room. 8. Conference table/room for any need. Yes, to some extent there is a dated look but as someone who stays in many upscale places, if you tend to enjoy the ability to stretch out and have some privacy (or stay up late when others are trying to sleep) AND you want to not pay through the roof for doing so, this place is for you. Now we need a frequent stay program (although AA is available).

Old and outdatedI did not like this hotel at all! It reminded me of the shining!! It is old and outdated. The hotel just seems dingy. The only air conditioner is in the living room and does not reach to the bedroom so it was very hot.

Just a pleasant place to stay while in Bellevue....This was my third stay in the La Residence Suite Hotel in probably a six year time span. This time I had a one bedroom on the fourth floor on the back of the building, and I was very happy with the suite. Yes, the hotel is kind of dated, but that is just part of deal. The price is amazing for Bellevue, PLUS you get free Wi-Fi, free parking, and a continental breakfast. I can live with the 70's vibe for those benefits. The KS bed was comfortable, the towels were great, the heater was very quiet (compared to the chain hotel units), the apartment was very clean and was very quiet. Since I brought my own breakfast things, I loved having a kitchen. I did not have to get dressed to eat breakfast and watch the morning news! It was also great to have a living room and a bedroom, more private. While it may seem a little weird getting an actual key, it is not a big deal, as long as you keep track of it (as you have to do with a keycard also). The staff was very friendly..... it was so nice being greeted when I returned to the hotel each afternoon and evening. And the location cannot be beat! I walked over to Bel-Square for shopping, takeout food, and meeting my contacts. I realize that this may not be the place for everyone, but I like it, and will stay there again when I am back in Bellevue. If you want to pay $100 more a night to stay in a chain hotel, go ahead, but I liked investing the savings into my shopping!

VERY close in to everything in Bellevue. This is really an old apartment building that has been converted into a hotel. Rooms generally have a kitchen and dining area. Not high-end at all, but very functional. Great staff (at least on the weekend - we love Larry, who has been there for years).
