  Still the best, still the same problems

  Last time I wrote a review, it was 2013. Nothing has changed, it is still extremely good on all sides. And the only confusing point, the lighting system, is still there, as if nobody has found a solution. Imagine that you switch of the lights of your room (not the general switch, just all individual lights). Well you are there for a suprise, because of the 8 to 10 wall outlets, all but one or 2 will still function. So if you connected your celular phones or computers to the wrong ones, you are there for a surprise in the morning, as nothign will have charged during the night. Maybe an information delivered in each room may point out to the wall outlet still working during the night, or a big orange arrow on the one(s) who will not die when the room lights are switched off? But the hotel does not seem to care, as nothing has changed since 2013. It is a unique hotel, including it is the only hotel I know with this kind of problems and this lack of preocupation to inform the guests..... And of course I will come back next year.....

  Great Business Meeting Venue in Knokke!

  We recently stayed at La Reserve as a party of 23 for a 2 day business meeting. From the very start, Valerie and the events team were extremely helpful, pleasant and accomodating. Everything from the welcome dinner to the end of the meeting ran like clockwork. The food and meeting room was extremely well catered for. My only suggestion would be to have some concealed plug points within the floor as having a caberet style set up with lots of cables trailing around was a little tricky, but only a minor thing. The guest bedrooms were extremely clean, nicely furnished, with very comfortable beds. All the attendees commented on how nice the hotel was. The bar area was very comfortable and stylish and was a great place to gather as a group after dinner for a drink and a chat. All in all I would not hesitate to recommend this as a business or indeed leisure venue. I would very much love to return, but perhaps in the summer months as much of the town was closed in October as would be expected for a seasonal seaside resort.

  Extremely disappointed and confused by the excellent reviews. I booked through my assistant ( he used his credit card and 3000 for 6 nights was blocked 1000 more that cost of room) at arrival even with a letter send from hotel I wasnt allowed to include the breakfast on that card and I had to give my credit card for extra ( 600 was blocked without anyone telling me why ) . I asked the reception 2 days later after my card was blocked in a restaurant no explanation extremely rude receptionist. Room was nice very clean but for 2 persons barely no toiletries ( one of each ) I was travelling light because coming from London straight to Knokke after Bruges and later Brussels left main suitcase with my assistant ( didnt fancy with Covid 19 queuing in shop for shampoo etc . First evening no place in restaurant we had to eat in room very limited menue & food was extremely poor .... later in the week no tea at bar because coffee machine was close !!! Food drinks average ( no cocktail because no lemon ??!!!) and service slow because of lack of staff . Spa pool sauna clean and very quiet top mark especially during this time but if you leave the hotel late in the day you cant go for last swim after checkout at 12pm .... with rain what to do ..... wait all day at bar ??? I have travelled and been spoiled by staying in 5* hotels around the world always been able to use facilities until leaving even sometimes given a room for shower before departure. Never been spoken so poorly by receptionist and will not return even we enjoyed the comfort of room the cleanliness of pool the great location. Sad as I was planning to book 10 days and 3 rooms for September and next summer to come with my family.

  Luxury in modern times

  The room was very clean and disenfected. I stayed in a suite with my wife for our 10 years anniversary. The staff was helpfull and kind, but as everything was perfect I didn't talk to them that much. Quick check-in en check-out. The breakfast was one of the best I had in a hotel.
