  Pet friendly but not COVID safe

  I recently stayed at a new La Quinta Inn in Georgia. It was newly built and had great staff. I love that La Quinta is pet friendly, but I was very dismayed that they did not enforce mask wearing, not even in the breakfast area, where I saw a man just wandering around the buffet without a mask. Needless to say, we didn't eat breakfast there. In the public lobby space, they didn't enforce masks either. The evening before a group of 30-somethings stood right in the main walkway talking without masks and a couple in their late 60s came in and talked to the desk clerk with no masks. I just don't get it. Public health guidance can't be flaunted in other ways (imagine defying a smoking ban in a lobby), so why allow this requirement to be ignored? It's not a political choice; it's a life or death matter--literally!

  Poor Service and No A/C

  When I booked my room I requested the room on the bottom floor with the Jacuzzi in the room but when I arrived I was on the 4th floor. When I entered the room it was close to midnight and it was 80 degrees in my room. I turned on the A/C and opened the window and it took all; night to cool down, even though it was below 40 outside. The weather was so strange I attributed it to the change in weather outside. Then on Tuesday it got up to 78 in my room and I was sweating. When I left for class that morning I told the people at the desk and they told me they would check it. I got back to my room after 9 pm and my window was left open and the air still did not work. I could hardly sleep at all that night. Again Wednesday Morning I asked about it and was again told they would look into it. Again I came in Wednesday night still no A/C. Thinking well they may have had to order a part or something I did not say anything on Thursday morning. Then when I came in on Thursday night my room was sweltering. It hovered between 78 and 80. I call the girl at the front desk and again told her it was not working and she started asking me questions if I had checked this and that and I explained to her that I am pretty well versed in A/C operation. She then said she would come fix it. 2 hours later when she came up she fumbled with the thermostat, then with the unit controls, then with the plug in the wall. After about 15 minutes she told me she could not fix it and she had broken out into a sweat as well. She told me there was not another room available. I asked if they at least had a fan and was told let me go check and I will be back. I waited over an hour, even called down to the desk but no answer, after that point I went ahead and loaded most of my things into my car and I slept in my car the last night, (a whole 2 hours). When I checked out I told the clerk how disgusted I was with the room, the service and overall the stay. I told her I refuse to pay for the 3 nights that I had no A/C and stayed in a sweat box. She told me she would have to get with the general manager as she was the only one who could make an adjustment. I told her that was fine but they were not to charge anything on my card until the GM called me. I never heard anything from the GM and then today I see a charge that was made on the 16th, (4 days after I checked out and told them they could not charge anything on my card I see a charge of $381.00 charged to my card. I am no sure but I believe this constitutes a fraud because I withdrew my permission to make the charge onto my account. I have yet to hear from anyone. I do not want the GM calling me because we had to deal with her before on a previous stay and she was rude and obnoxious.

  Our vacation

  Lori from the front best was so nice and went out of her way to help me accommodate my family. We had 2 rooms. Very clean and safe Hotel and what a awesome breakfast they had. Will always stop at this location and traveling through from now on

  Wont stay here again

  Staff was great and very helpful. Room was not that great. Couch had stains all over it. It was not that clean. Hairs on bathroom floor and didnt appear carpet had been vacuumed and it was dusty. Disappointed in our stay. Good price and great parking.

  Overnight for interview

  Quality at a reasonable rate. Great rooms, good hot breakfast, good service and friendly staff. We only stayed one night ,but everything was exactly what we hoped for. We have stayed here before, even through 8 weeks of training and have never had a single complaint. We would recommend this to anybody. Easy access to I-75.
