Very disappointingWhy so many good reviews? The pool was ok; small but clean with slightly odd sloping sides - but most welcome in the July heat. The rest of our experience was poor. I think this place is really an event venue with a catering and traitteur business; it is not focussed on travelling guests. You have only to look at the ratio of rooms to event space to know this. The room was very average, with no aircon - hopelessly hot - with large insecure windows which when opened let in heat and guests noise. The dinner was poor. The service was pretty disinterested and my wife pronounced the kir vin blanc the worst she had ever tasted - far too sweet with no edge to the wine. Food was very unremarkable given the so-called reputation of the property. Breakfast almost became a farce! There was one decent sized cereal bowl left between the two of us. I asked the young waitress in French for another and was told there were no more. Well having by now realised how the place had no idea about service off I went to wash one up in our room. All poor. Last time we broke our A4 journey in this area we used the Novotel in Saint Avold. You should too. Better beds, aircon, etc less money with good restaurants very close by.

Lovely hotelWe stayed two nights and loved this hotel. Helpful reception, lovely room with a bathroom and bath and two different fans. There is a beautiful pool but it was raining and so we could not swim. The large area with bar at reception was very nice and we sat there and had gin and tonics both evenings before eating in their fabulous restaurant, again both evenings. The choice of set menu, menu degustation and à la Carte were excellent. On our first evening ( our 35th wedding anniversary) we had the menu degustation and it was superb and the next evening we had a seasonal menu and again excellent. We found that the only let down was the breakfast. On our first morning both coffee machines were not working and there were no staff around at all to resolve the problem. Eventually a guest worked out that the water had ran out and managed to refill and get the queue moving for coffee. Also many dishes were empty that had cake on from the look of the crumbs but after 30 minutes, it was not replenished. Their baguette was delicious so the next morning we were looking forward to it but there was none. When a lady arrived to check on things I asked for baguette and she showed me the tiny individual ones that were very hard and not good. A shame really, breakfast was the only let down to a fab hotel.

Perfect for seminarsI stayed two nights in the hotel for a business seminar. The rooms are comfortable and well equiped. The breakfast is varied and offers all you can expect from French bakery. We had also lunch and dinner there. They propose a wide choice of dishes. They also adapt for vegetarian people. Gluten-free food is also possible.

A lovely country side hotel not far from MetzThe welcome to the hotel is warm and professional. The suite Virginie is very beautifully furnished, large, quiet and comfortable. As it is on two floors, it may be not the first choice for people with limited mobility. Breakfast is very good. The nice outside pool and the spa are certainly a plus. Main attraction is the restaurant with an excellent cuisine. In fact, one would not expect such a high standard hotel and restaurant in the middle of nowhere. An ideal quiet place for visiting Metz, only about 23 km away. We can wholeheartedly recommend both hotel and restaurant.

Unexpected pleasureOur first time staying in this hotel and to say we were not disappointed would be an understatement considering the situation that most of the world finds itself in at this moment in time. From our first encounter at reception with an extremely pleasant and efficient receptionist who made checking in very easy we were shown to our most comfortably appointed room overlooking the countryside, we had preordered dinner as requested and were not disappointed with either the service or the superb quality of the food presented accompanied by a bottle of local Pinot Noir. Breakfast was served to the room and was also of excellent quality.
