Buena Ubicación pero Cable TV e Internet cuestan
El hotel está en una ubicación muy céntrica. Buenas habitaciones, bien equipadas y los ambientes del lobby, decorados con muy buen gusto. Lo único que no me gusta de estos hoteles de 4 y 5 estrellas (todos tienen el mismo sistema), es el sistema de Cable TV. Te dan unos cuantos canales free que son 80% propagandas y para ver películas clásicas (las que uno ve normalmente en el cable de su casa), tienes que pagar un adicional! Al final, se hace tan aburrido ver TV que apaga el televisor. Otro tema de estos hoteles es que te cobran por el internet por día. Vi hoteles de categoría turistica 3 estrellas, cómodos, que te dan el internet free y ver mas canales en TV.

Going Downhill
Stayed in a so-called deluxe two bedroom suite Oct 22 and 23rd. Have stayed here and in the adjoining Sutton place Hotel frequently over the years. This will be my last visit. Suite is furnished to a fairly low quality and is not at all bright or attractive. Half bath off master and old 3 piece washroom off the hall with tub and shower curtain. No shower enclosure. Wifi is so bad had to quit using it after about 20 minutes. TV in second bedroom is about 20 inches. All TV's operate on an old system with just channel line up when you press guide--no info re whats on. One girl serving in the bar downstairs. Not her fault but brutally slo. Overall, th suites in La Grande Residence are average dated Best Western at best. This hotel really needs to refurbish and get its act together fast.

Good location
We stayed in November in one bed deluxe suite. Positives Great location- central location close to public transport, shopping and Denman street the main food street in the area. The suite we had was spacious and clean. The internet was fast with reasonably good connection. (Tip- book the room directly with the hotel for free internet. If you book through a third party it is an additional cost per night. This is very petty, very strange policy considering most hotels around the world, especially high-end establishments, would offer free internet as standard). Staff were helpful when we had an issue with the room and resolved the matter very quickly. House keeping team was very friendly, and always says hello. Negative The room was supposed to be renovated but not to a good standard, attention to details is lacking. The couch/sofa bed in the living room was extremely uncomfortable to sit on. The air-con unit was located outside on the balcony and it was unbelievably noisy. I couldnt believe a high-end hotel doesnt have central air-con. The second suite on the 12th floor only has air-con in the living room so in a hot summer months the bedroom would be very hot. Close to hospital and busy downtown street therefore the sirens and traffic noise were very loud, even though we stayed in 10th and 12th floor. The windows are not soundproofed, bring ear plugs! Although the staff (reception) were efficient when checking in and dealing with issues, they lack friendliness and stand-offish. The staff we encountered at the restaurant during happy hour was curt and passive aggressive. Overall Compared to other five star hotels, Le grand residence is no where near the same standard. It was adequate and convenient location.

Great Location for Holidaying Families
This Location is right in the heart of the main shopping precinct, 2 bedroom was comfortable for 2 adults/2 children, service and staff were all very good , no complaints, for a mid range Hotel, the in house restaurant and bar suited my wife and I but not really a children's dinner location, but that is a minor point , plenty of choices 2 minutes from the door

One month stay
So... almost a month at La Grande Residence, starting with 2 weeks in quarantine. The suite was clean and spacious and was as comfortable as one could expect, given we were unable to leave the room for 2 weeks. The bed was very comfortable but the suite was in need of refurbishment and some "TLC". The staff were responsive to our needs when we called, with one exception (more below). The concierge staff were helpful and courteous when delivering food and other essentials. When we were finally able to have our suite serviced the cleaning attendants did a good job.The heating did not work properly at the start but was fixed after a couple of days. Being located very close to the 'fire station' wasn't ideal and frequently we were awoken in the night by sirens. As we were told the restaurant was fully booked for dinner on NYE we decided to make our own in suite dinner. Trying to get glasses, a tablecloth and steak knives was almost impossible. After numerous calls and promises to call back, I had to resort to going down to the restaurant to ask the receptionist, this was at 6pm. She was offhand and said that tablecloths weren't available. I insisted and eventually nearly 45 minutes later the items were delivered to the room, with the exception of the champagne flutes. The young lady in question would benefit from some proper guest relations training. We were also unhappy that there was no facility for breakfast apart from room service, which was very over priced. It should be very simple to serve a limited breakfast menu in the restaurant, given the restaurant was open in the evenings. As we were staying for a month, half of which was under a quarantine situation, we were disappointed that we didn't receive at least one courtesy call to see how were were doing by the hotel management, who were not in evidence during our lengthy stay.
