A taste of Rural Burgundy in a beautiful setting

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Gentilhommiere. The rooms as you read by now are "motel" style, which means no view at all unless you upgrade to the suites. That aside, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the value for money is very good. Most importantly the food is outstanding (but a dinner will set you back 50 + wine) so this is not exactly in line with what you would expect to pay for a room) There is a nice size pool (not heated) and a lovely decked area for drinks. The service is friendly and I recommend the excellent value breakfast. My recommendation to the team would be to add a safe in the room (the park is open all night) and a bottle of water: you can't buy any 2 miles around!

    Not what I expected....

We recently stayed in this hotel as a stopper over on our way down to Chamonix. The rooms were very small, dark, bathroom tiny and felt needed a good clean. When booking it was not made clear you were booking a motel room (120 euros plus taxes) We ate in the Resturant, although really good I did end up with mild form of food poisoning (crab and fish).... I emailed the hotel to inform them as we needed to leave and I had no response...The staff are very polite and helpful but unfortunately I could not recommend this hotel.

Falsely Claimed Air Conditioning. AVERAGE Chalet Style Motel with small dark cabins around the car park

We booked a room for one night in late July, primarily based on the convenience of the location and the TripAdvisor review page which showed Air Conditioning as an amenity. On arrival were were given the keys to a chalet type room in the car park. It reminded me of the TV ads for holiday camps from the 1960's. The room was small and dark, the only natural light coming from the glazed casement door to the room. A small bathroom to the rear, with a narrow high level window - which was the only source of ventilation, completed the accommodation. The outside temperature was around 35 degrees. The temperature inside the room was higher. I went straight to reception and naively asked how to switch on and regulate the air conditioning. I was told that there was no air conditioning in any of the standard room, only in the suites. I was in luck though as the hotel was not full and I could upgrade for 100. I insisted that air conditioning was listed as a general amenity on TripAdvisor and was called a liar, only to be retracted and deemed an administrative error when I showed the page. After a protracted 'discussion', a call was made, presumably to management and a key to a larger cabin, this time with air conditioning, was handed to me. There are some good reviews here on TripAdvisor for the restaurant. We found the menu choices limited and the food adequate. The breakfast on the other hand was excellent. A superb selection of fruits (fresh & stewed), breads, pastries, jams, cheeses, meats, juices, teas, coffees and eggs! Once home I contacted TripAdvisor who themselves contacted the hotel. The hotels reaction was to ignore TripAdvisor, but amend the list of amenities shown on their TripAdvisor page to exclude air conditioning. So there you have it. Should you want to stay in a non air conditioned box in a car park and pay 115 for the privilege (plus breakfast) then this is the place for you. In all fairness the breakfast is truly excellent, unlike the dinner.

    Nice Location and Restaurant

The rooms are somewhat small and poorly appointed. The towels and other things that are easily put right are poor quality and really don't match the quality of the main building and the restaurant which is of a very high quality. The food is excellent though without a great choice. The dining room is beautiful and the staff attentive and genuinely seem nice.

    Tres comfortable

This hotel is located in a silent spot in nature just outsight nuits saint Georges. Rooms are very spacious, all comfort . Pitty due to covid we had no breakfast buffet . Instead Some biscuits and coffe, tea in THE room. Garden and swimmingpool with to.much insecten and no cleaning during daytime. Luxurious and huge terrace where You can enjoy Great meals. Wine card is rather expensive but very high standard.
