A hotel to hotel ourselvesLiterally a hotel to ourselves. Bar the (lovely) receptionist theres no porter, no cars in the car park, no bar/lounge as stated on trip advisor, no food on sundays, no room service, by a railway track along a dusty road. Gates shut at midnight and they give you a key to sort yourself out. Two handwritten restaurant suggestions written on a scruffy notepad. Deserted. How on earth this gets four stars I have no idea. We were meant to be here for two nights and within fifteen minutes we had phoned our next hotel who were brilliant and found us a room so we could cancel this hotel. There is a scrubby golf course if you are a golfer (we are not, but even with my limited knowledge Id say its in very very poor condition) We could not see why anyone would stay here ....ever. Maybe high season means you are not alone but Turin was busy and yet here no one stays. Extremely disappointed as wed been in contact with hotel well before arrival (weeks) and at no point were we told wed be treated this way with no food or room service or bar or anything when we arrived on a Sunday. Fortunately we were only there for 14 hours in the end - just for a bed and roof. Absolutely the worst place I have been to in all my world travels - even the African tribes in their huts have far, far more to offer. Avoid - unless you like isolation and bring your own food and drink. (Thank goodness we had a car or it really would make you cry). Oh, and the insects - in the rooms with no repellents available (again, fortunately we bought fly and insect spray). 4 stars? No, no, no!

nicetrying to find a different place in the piemont to enjoy some tartuffo biancho and to have a room for the night we ended up booking la fermata. what a beautiful place a little outside. being the only guests for the night we enjoyed the quiet hotel and the spacious room for our family with two small children (1 extra bed and a babycot). very nice.

Lovely Place In A Semi Rural AtmosphereLovely place in semi rural / industrial countryside. The room we had was complete with a curved brick ceiling. Quiet and comfortable with helpful and friendly staff, from the young manager, Giulia Paciotti, right through to the house maids. Impressive restaurant but we didnt eat there every day, great breakfast and several good restaurants in nearby Alessandria. There is a driving range and putting green but if you want to play golf you should drive to Villa Carolina golf club, this can be arranged by the front desk. Lots of villages and wineries to visit within an hours drive too.

Wonderful! We booked La Fermata Resort as a stopover on journey back to UK. We were very pleasantly surprised by the resort. Very warm welcome on arrival from receptionist, rooms large, airy and tastefully decorated. We have 2 dogs and there were dogs beds and bowls in the room for them too. Lots of additional touches in the room too. There is a Michelin Star restaurant which unfortunately was fully booked when we arrived. I would recommend making a reservation prior to arrival if you know your arrival time. Fully enclosed large garden area where dogs could run free whilst we drank coffee on the patio area. Breakfast was superb with a lot of delicious local produce and little tips from the kitchen to inform guests what went well together. I especially enjoyed the homemade peach cobbler made with local peaches. This resort is a must for anyone travelling in this area. It is so peaceful and the staff could not do enough for us. My only regret is that due to time constraints we could only stay 1 night.
