  Weekend Breakaway

  Beautiful place, friendly staff, excellent food and be view of the Hartebeespoortdam. Beautiful rooms, if you're looking for a quiet getaway I would most definitely recommend LA Dolce Vita guesthouse.

  Shocking accommodation

  My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at La Dolce Vita for our anniversary and unfortunately we were extremely disappointed and actually wouldn't recommend this place to anyone especially room 6. When we arrived and were shown to our room we found that there was a stain on the duvet and and sheet and there were marks on the towels. The bed was very uncomfortable and desperately needs to be replaced. If you coming for peace and quiet then this is not the place. You can hear everything that is happening in the kitchen, you can hear when guests arrive and check in as the room is right at the entrance, the doors all squeek and you can hear everything that goes on in the room next door. Hearing the co-curricular activities of our neighbours made us feel very uncomfortable. The sliding door from the bedroom onto the balcony didn't work. In the bathroom the taps in the basin were very loose and only the hot tap worked. It was very inconvenient having to brush our teeth with hot water. The breakfast was at least good and the one 3 course dinner we had was also good but definitely not anything amazing. All in all I don't know how this place has a 4 star rating and can't believe the rates they charge for what they have to offer. How disappointing.

  Perfect getaway

  My husband and I went here for our anniversary. Included in the package was a 2 hour boar cruise on Hartebeesport Dam. I have been to the dam many times but never on it so it was really great. The choice of music though was not to everyone's taste. The food onboard was great and you get vouchers for drinks in return for part of the money you paid to get into the reserve. From the cruise we went to the guest lodge and it was fantastic. They went to great lengths to make the room look special. At dinner we had a special table set up for us too. The food was fantastic. There are a few small things that they can improve on but overall we had a wonderful stay, Thank you to the staff for the extra effort you went to to make it a memorable anniversary.

  What a bunch of thieves. They dont deliver what they promise, they dont have the food you ordered, they do not have electricity, how disgusting to make you sit in the dark on your wedding night. No candles, flat phones which you cannot charge. Offer wi fi, but without electricity?You cannot find your way to the bathroom. You cannot have codfee. There is nothing in the bar fridge. No aircon, because there is no electricity. The owner Natasha Mostert does not answer any phone calls, messages, whatsapps, or e-mails... make you pay the full weekend amount on arrivL, yet she will not refund you if you book out a day before because of the no electrici ry, and not eat breakfSt, have the spA treatments and stY the last night. Who in their right mind will stay the whole weekend without electricity??? Natasha Mostert, you steal from people!

  Super slow booking response or none at all

  We tried to book a weekend with this venue, it took them a day to respond to the mail, advising they have availability, we were pleased and replied immediately that we are keen. This is where it all goes wrong, we waited for rest of the day and did not get a confirmation, so we phoned the landline and cell number, no answer. We tried later again (both of us at different times), left messages etc, I eventually got through and spoke to a person who works at the place, he explained he will need to get the owner to contact me, I explained the urgency as we need to make a decision and arrangements, I also informed him we have sent 2 separate emails and phoned numerous times and left messages I will ask Deon to get back to you tomorrow. Well here we are and its tomorrow lunch time and not a single call or mail. So we definitely wont be going there, its of to a really bad experience and at approx. R7000 plus cost for 2 nights, this is unacceptable bad service. I am amazed how venues like this can be so poor in service, you would think the covid lockdown challenges would want them to be more proactive? Anyhow we will shift our business and support to venues that care and want business.
