Top of the town.Great hotel in a great location. Daniel and Clara provided exceptional service and guidance. Daniel seemed to anticipate Our every need and was there when we needed assistance. Service at breakfast was good although the breakfast range could have been broader to include fruit for instance but cappuccinos were never ending. I'd go back

Incredibly helpful, amazing location and great servicesStayed in March and it was exactly the 'basilicata hill town' experience we hoped for. The room was very spacious, and i found quite up to date (contrary to one of the other reviews that indicated it felt dated) and the lobby was a room off the entrance reception area. Absolutely incredible location - on the roadway so that a taxi could drop you off but also immediately next to the fruit market in the small main square, three alimentara including one right at the bottom of the steps of the hotel where you can buy everything you could want to eat and drink (including an incredible selection of local wine), and next to a convenience store to buy things like paper plates, corkscrews, etc. Down the road from a postaitalia automatic bank machine - a rarity in similar small towns. Finally, next to at least three of the 'side passages' to walk up and down paths/stairs instead of on the roadway to more quickly ascend to the 70 foot christ the redeemer statue or down to the beach (paths all the way, don't need to go on the road, and each about an hour to 1.5 hrs at a reasonably brisk pace) and see the amazing side streets of italy. So, location-wise, couldn't have asked for more - in the middle of the historic centre, in the main square, which is halfway up the hill to the top. Service, again, only praise: 1) The room was made impeccably clean every day; 2) very friendly reception (in the form of Daniel) willing to help with distances; 3) very pleasant breakfast and tasty capuccinos; 4) no problems with request for some extra toilet paper (we traveled with three people and always seem to use to much; 5) happily accomodated our request for an extra blanket; 6) wireless in the lobby not just available, but very fast (5megabits) Some things to be aware of: 1) it would be an incredible and inconvenient effort to walk to the hotel from the train station with luggage, although with backpacks only it is quite possible especially if you are fit, have 1.5 hrs and are accustomed to finding your way (there is one main road up the mountain toward the statute on the hill, with small paths that shortcut through the roads); 2) you CAN get a taxi from the train station, and we found quite a reasonably priced ride (much better than our ride from Positano and happy to provide the number if you send a message) 3) The closest station is Maratea, NOT Maratea Porto. 4) It was chilly in the room at first - but that was generally our experience in hotels in Italy around this time of year and after leaving the radiator on for a bit wasn't a problem. In sum, a most enjoyable experience. I really can't fathom some of the reviews here... not comparable to my experience at all.

That's perfect! I love itI was there in July 2012 through Groupon and I'll go there if I'll come back to Maratea. It's located in the city center, perfect position! Its restaurant was very pretty and good. It had a very good price-quality ratio. Rooms was clean, simple and useful. Its staff was very, very affable and helpful. I recommend you this hotel if you woluld like to spend your time enjoying the typical southern Italy's atmosphere among the scrub, pine forests, wandeful sea and a good food.

Nice Hotel in the historical Center of MarateaThe Hotel is located in the middle of the historical center. You can reach it at "Piazza Vitolo" with a bus from the train station "Scala FS". The room was simple but nice with a view to the Jesus Figure (where you can walk within 45min) and the main Piazza. One negative point was the moisty air in the room. And in the night it gets so cold, that the plain wasnt enough to warm you. Nevertheless, the stuff was friendly and made some nice Breakfast. We had 2 good days in Maratea.

not somewhere for more than one nightThis hotel has a brilliant position in the centre of town and the view from a room with a balcony is great. However the room I stayed in had black mould growth on the walls, and the bathroom, although roomy, had black mould and dirt in the shower cubicle. The breakfast was mostly a few packeted biscuits. It could be so nice but they need to spend money on it. There are no buses on Sundays from the station, from which it is too far to walk with luggage. We were given a lift by a helpful man in the bar. The bus times at the stop are out of date. Stayed April 2013. We were the only 2 people in the hotel.
