Poor service, food just ok and service could be betterWe invited our friend to celebrate an wedding birthday , For apritif we had champagne no tapas were served ( even something like olives, peanut , ...) , When ordering we discovered that they were no oyster for starter. Average proice for three courses meal is 55 euros without drinks no special taste ( menu indicated fish with mussels and balck curry ; no taste and no mussel ) for a dish at 29 euros ! This place has got a 4* hotel . There was a firewood in the restaurant which could be nice but nobody cares so it was smelling with fumes which was not pleasant. Opposite view is Le Havre with all industrial sites which is not buccolic as we expected

DisappointingTheir web site is misleading, this is not luxurious as the site depicts. One attendant on duty, cheap furniture in rooms. Nice linen bedding though. No outlet near mirror for hair dryer. Common areas need cleaning. Paid over $200/night, have paid $100 for better accommodations. Very disappointed.

Magical place!I was really surprised to see the negative reviews here, since Ive had such a wonderful stay at La Chaumiere. This is a family run place, and you can tell that people really care about your experience here. Beautiful grounds, lovely beach (I happen to think the twinkling lights of Le Havre are wonderful), and kind and thoughtful service. The restaurant is phenomenal - yes order the tarte tatin in advance, and the biggest surprise winner was the terrine vegetale. Were already talking about inviting friends to join us here next year.

Terrible Customer Service During Covid-19We were excited to stay here in June until COVID-19 hit. We reached out to the hotel directly about our nonrefundable stay as a result of our need to cancel due to an inability to travel to Europe due to the virus. After responding and offering to allow us a credit, they waited until the night of our stay, called us and told us we had not cancelled, and then accused us of causing them to stay up until 1 am waiting for us. Not only was it clear from the EU's ban on US travelers that we weren't coming, we presented the correspondence from the hotel offering the credit and they still refused to acknowledge it. Money down the drain.

Pricey hotel on outskirts of HonfleurMy partner booked this hotel at the last minute after a very long drive from the UK. It is on the outskirts of Honfleur so not close enough to walk into the town, it is a half hour walk along the beach. The grounds and the actual building are stunning, with a chic, relaxed vibe. It was lovely to stay in an original chateau. It is family run and the family pets casually roam around and make you feel at home (thats if you like pets which we do). There is an indoor pool in the grounds of the hotel which can be pre-booked for private use during the current health crisis. All staff adhered to current H&S measures. The room itself was small with the toilet at the opposite end of the room from the sink which proved difficult in the middle of the night. The bed itself was super comfortable with linen bedding which doesnt look great but was very comfortable. The restaurant food was good but a little pricey. The outside area of the restaurant overlooks the beach and the lights of La Havre. Staff were polite even though they were very busy. Blankets are provided if you wish to stay outside when it gets chilly. At 400 for a room per night I did not feel it was worth that amount of money however we did have an enjoyable stay. I think next time we would chose to stay closer to Honfleur within walking distance of the town.
