  Very good but ...

  Overall, very good. Good sized, nicely decorated, clean modern room with all the usual features you'd expect. Dinner was usually good but dipped occasionally. Drinks resonably priced. Breakfast was good for buffet style. Staff and service was excellent. We were there to ski and had access to a van to take us up to the main lift otherwise it would be a pain to walk up every morning. Easy walk back though. A couple of minus points: guests have to pay E12 to enter spa (I didn't use), no chalet style afternoon tea & cake after skiing, no bath in most rooms.

  Fantastic modern friendly quality hotel

  I stayed here for one week with 16 friends. JP and Natasha were helpful throughout as were all the staff. They helped arrange ski hire and transport to the piste and back when there was limited snow (5mins max), opened the facilities early when requested and organised trips to other val dAosta areas. The bar and restaurant were great. The rooms spacious modern clean and many had great views of the valley or the slopes. Food quality and variety were good. The only down side would be the charge for guests to use the spa pool and sauna at peak evening times Im coming back!

  Cosy, modern, hotel with great location

  We just spent a few great days at Hotel La Chance for skiing. Its an absolutley lovely hotel. Fantastic friendly helpful lovely staff. We had half-pension and the food was a fantastic Italien 4-course dinner every night. Delicious wines are served for 3EUR/glass. The breakfast is also really good with lots of choices, egg, bacon, scrambled eggs, yoghurts, han, cheese, serveras choices of breads etc. Lots of gluten-free choices. The rooms are spacious with great bathrooms. The beds are however extremely hard so the only room for improvement would be to invest in top matresses on the beds! I guess us Nordic people are much more used to softer beds so these hard beds makes it very hard to sleep. The hotel is really close to the slopas. Its however. an uphill of approx 400m to the lifts which is a good warm up for skiing but a bit of a challenge for kids. But its very easy to drive up there! There is a big parking. No queues for the ski lifts. Only Italians skiing there :-) Pila is a lovely ski area, really well prepared, perfect for 1-3 days of skiiing with 17 lifts but we took the car to La Theuil one day which is highly recommmended. 1.5hr drive. Dont miss this little hidden gem :-)

  The views are fantastic!

  If you choose to stay at the La Chance invest in a room on the Mont Blanc side of the hotel. The views are so fantastic especially as the rising sun catches Mont Blanc in the morning. We stayed in a Junior Suite (room 503). A lovely spacious room with a bath and separate shower. The hotel is well located for the main lifts in Pila. The lifts are a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Two uphill sections but nothing uncomfortable. We hired a ski locker at the gondola station for the week for 38 euro to save carrying equipment every day - a worthwhile spend. The hotel staff are very helpful, friendly and welcoming. We stayed half board. The food was very good and plentiful. Drinks are not expensive, 3 euro for a glass of wine and 2.50 for a coffee. The lounges downstairs are spacious and comfortable. It would have been nice if the fire was lit each night though. It would have just made it more cosy! Well worth visiting Aosta. It's included on your lift pass so you can take the gondola down. It's a 17 minute ride with great views then a 10 minute walk into the town centre. This was our third trip to Pila. We are returning in Jan 2021 and have already booked to stay at the La Chance again!

  Complete recharge

  A perfect hotel for this kind of holiday. My husband and I chose Hotel La Chance as a more comfortable choice to the usual skiing hotels, as he is a skier and I am not. The La Chance is warm, cosy, nicely decorated and a comfortable base for a non-skier. While he risked life and limb on the slopes, just a 10 minute walk away, I read my book in the lounge in front of the fire with views of Mont Blanc, or enjoyed the spa, which I usually had to myself in the afternoons. The hot stones massage was wonderful. We ate in the restaurant on 2 evenings, the food was great and the service friendly and helpful. As a veggie, this isnt always the case in Europe, however I managed to gain 3kgs over the weekend, so well done me. We were delighted with the La Chance and must praise the fantastic staff, both at Reception and in the restaurant and spa, all professional, but warm and friendly. We left totally relaxed
