Village hotel, quiet and classy.Four of us on a motorcycle tour. We chose Le Bergerie simply because of it's convenient location on our road trip route. Rooms are good value, but expect meal prices to reflect the quality that they most certainly are. The Angus Steaks are awesome. This is a classy place, situated in a village about 40 miles from Luxembourg, with easy access to the A4 and A30 motorways (that is not to say they're within earshot). Being the only eatery/hostelry in the village, Le Bergerie gets very busy in the evening. We booked for 9pm and still waited almost to the point of frustration. The overworked staff did what they could but, being French, have little concept of humility or customer satisfaction. Inside was full, so we asked to be seated at an outside table so we could eat together and before we went to bed. This was eventually arranged but, again, it felt we were putting staff out. This is a small matter and we ended up with a smile on our faces so we left it at that. Rooms are large and comfortable. Parking is on large garvelled areas to the front and rear. Not ideal for motorbikes, but a few hard standings can be found if you keep your eyes open - just to the left of the reception entrance is one. I would recommend Le Bergerie for couples and small groups, romantics and families.

Very convenient and in a lovely settingMy wife and I checked in to Le Bergerie for a one night stay whilst travelling back to the UK from Switzerland. We had read the reviews on TripAdvisor and were a little apprehensive prior to our visit.. We should not have worried, the receptionist was lovely and could not have been more helpful. We arrived quite early on Friday, a little too early for the 14:00 check-in, the staff were, without exception, excellent. They were friendly and could not be more helpful. We took a seat on the terrace where we relaxed in the sun with a cold drink until our room was ready. The room booked was a Superior Room and whilst not massive had all that we required. The bed was large and comfortable and the shower excellent. The room did not have air conditioning but being an old French Manor House, the room remained quite cool even though the outside temperature was 30c The restaurant was excellent, if a little challenging for somebody (like me) with limited knowledge of the french language as neither of the waitresses spoke English; something which should not be seen as a negative. Breakfast was very good, a reasonable choice - typical continental breakfast. Checkout was fast and painless. In summary - lovely location, adequate rooms, good shower, plenty of free parking. The staff were excellent (sorry to labour this point but they have been given some very poor reviews previously) and very helpful. I will be staying again and have no hesitation in recommending La Bergerie to friends and family.

Hidden GemOn arrival the receptionist was very friendly & her English was good. We only stayed one night as we were on a roadtrip. Everything was lovely apart from waiting staff spoke no English, which was difficult for us. Highly recommend. Room was sweet too. Breakfast was good.

Rustic Hotel and Restaurant in RugyThis is the fifth time we've stayed at La Bergerie and we're always satisfied with everything about the place, which is just 2 minutes off Junction 37 on the A4. The reception staff speak English and are very friendly and welcoming. There is plenty of free private parking. We always book a room in the main house which is compact but more than adequate for our overnight stays. The room and bathroom are well equipped. The restaurant has a full a la carte menu and the food is really good with dinner served from 7.30pm. Breakfast is served in the main house from 7am and has a great range of breads, croissant, cereal, preserves, yogurts etc as well as tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Thoroughly recommend this Logis!

Very nice place to spend a night on a journey. We booked one night with dinner and breakfast in October's last weekend via the Smartbox "Relais des Gourmets". The welcome was warm and friendly and the room Nr 3 allocated was very bright, well decorated and immaculately clean. The bed, a little small too, was 140 cm wide but the bedding was perfectly new and the mattress comfortable. The bathroom was simple but practical with a large corner shower opened on one side. Like all rooms numbered from 1 to 10, it was on the ground floor, behind the reception with its window facing a park at the rear of the building. Thanks to the double glazing, outside noise is inaudible. The only disturbance comes from the bathrooms of neighboring rooms. This is not a problem because nobody moves before lunch time at 7:30. The later, essentially continental, was very varied and hearty and well worthy of its price of 11 EUR. As for dinner, after a little discussion about wich one was best matching the prepaid "gourmet stay" formula, we were conceded the "seasonal" menu instead of the simple "terroir" menu, well below the price paid for the Smartbox. The setting of the restaurant is nice, staff smiling and service fast. The dishes offered, although limited in choice, were of excellent quality and very tasty. We immediately feel that the chef uses natural products and does it with pleasure. A more than satisfying stay as we expected for our 28th wedding anniversary which symbol is the Nickel, the French word to express ones satisfaction.
