Unspoilt Logis hotel near to CahorsWe stayed for three nights in a comfortable but basic room. All the rooms were on the ground floor grouped in a semi circle with a table and two garden chairs outside the door to the garden. We had one meal in the restaurant which was busy but well looked after by the young chef and his wife. I ventured to have the local delicacy "braised gesiers" but probably wouldn't repeat the choice.Although the hotel is on the main road to Sarlat the place was extremely quiet at night except for a rather noisy septic tank! The temperatures were up in the high 30s when we arrived and so it was a disappointment that the pool had not yet been commissioned for the summer. The young couple, with a young daughter, who run the hotel were extremely busy all day but were always very helpful when approached for information. As long as people do not expect out and out luxury this is a very good place to explore Cahors and the local villages.

Friendly and comfortableWe stayed for one night during a very hot July and were very glad of the efficient and quiet air conditioning ! Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable . The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed an excellent dinner. Our only quibble was that the charming swimming pool was very cold indeed!

Always a good mealThe restaurant at La Bergerie is within walking distance of our holiday home in the Lot. How lucky we are. We usually choose from the menu at about 33 euros which offers a choice of about three dishes per course and the meal is always enjoyable. Not only is the food (and wine) very good, but, the proprietors, Angélique and Maryan Rak understand customer service and the commitment that they put in to the business is admirable. It is always a great pleasure to eat at La Bergerie. Long may it continue to succeed!

Convenient lunch stopWe stopped in for lunch as it's quite convenient; easy access and good parking facilities. We all took the standard lunch menu which offers a couple of choices for the first 2 courses. The basic lunch menu is 19 There's no house wine except by the glass for 5, but there's an adequate range of bottled wines starting around 24 (not absolutely sure about that). The food was only let down by the fish which was dry. Apart from that the sauce was tasty and everything well seasoned. The dining room is very pleasant and decorated with style and care. There are lovely views to be had over the surrounding, wooded hills.

A pleasant little hotelSlightly off the beaten track, the detour to find it was well worth the effort. We were made welcome on our arrival, and the whole atmosphere was very friendly. Our room was large and clean, and the air conditioning an added attraction. The restaurant provided us with a very acceptable meal, although it was not cheap.Recommended.
