Disappointing, not what the web site promised. The room was clean and comfortable with a tiny bathroom squeezed in a cupboard, and with a terrace overlooking the garden. The bathroom needs a shelf to put your spongebag on while youre washing. It is very cramped and anyone tall would have difficulty. See picture. There was no handle to close it from the inside. The hotel is a short walk from the town centre and has nearby secure parking. It has aircon and good WiFi. It has changed hands since the last reviews and is somewhat neglected and tired in appearance. The new owners were very pleasant and helpful. Our balcony had suffered from high winds bringing red dust but it had not been cleaned up and was a mess of dried footprints and not a relaxing place to sit. Once-chic pots were now rusty. Ornamental vases with twigs were dusty and tired. The pool in the garden was uninviting and full of leaves and debris. The following day our room was serviced but the terrace remained dirty and unappealing. Some places, like our terrace and the door to,our room, could do with a coat of paint. The restaurant was closed, information on the web site was confusing, saying it was open only lunchtimes. It was not clear where food was served because tables were scattered about but none were set with cloths or cutlery. In a hotel you expect everything to be ready for you and welcoming. We had brought smart clothes expecting fine dining. The menu outside was nothing special. For a boutique hotel the décor was nothing special, it was pleasant but lacked flair. The bed was large and comfortable but the pillows were very solid and we removed the bolster (bolster!) Breakfast was ok. Usual cheese meat bread and fruit. Unfortunately the peaches and apricots were rock hard and the bread had been heated in the oven and was very hard and the croissants on the point of burning. We were asked what time we wanted breakfast, but still had to wait 10 minutes for it to be brought. The second day the croissants appeared to be rationed. We booked 6 months in advance and could not have known this place is host to events. There was a dinner for a large party followed by music and dancing til midnight in the garden. It has great potential but details need attention.

Spacious suiteWe had a suite which included a large lounge, good-sized bedroom and huge bathroom. It took up the whole side of the building and overlooked the garden and terrace. It was fantastic having so much space - even two TVs - pity no English-speaking channels! However, despite the bathroom being a good size there was no bath only a shower. Breakfast was filling which kept you going most of the day if need be. The location is excellent - only 10 minutes from the centre of town. The only disappointment was the pool area. It was a nice enough pool but the garden needs attention and the loungers had seen better days. Spruce that section up and you have a delightful boutique hotel.

Wonderful gem with a great restaurant also. The suites are very spacious and well appointed with a lovely, large garden area in the back. It is well located near both the center of town and the train station but is very quiet. The owners, Joelle and Aline, are very warm, welcoming and informative about the area. We had dinner in the hotel one evening and it was delicious. Totally recommend.

Wonderful charming hotel close to city centerGreat hotel in Orange for family visits 2+2. After arriving late we had a wonderful swim in the pool in the fig garden (fruits were ready to eat from the trees). Exquisite breakfast next day after a night of comfortable sleep (family suite has 2 rooms...). During the visit of Orange we left the luggage in the hotel and the car well parked. There was no problem to pick it up in the late afternoon, after another swim and fruits... Not given but money well spent

Amazing stay in OrangeIm super excited to start telling you our story from Provence that has started in a little town called Orange. It was a magical experience ever since weve stepped into our hotel Au Vin Chambré, a trip back in time. We have stayed at one of their attic suites with a view to their amazing garden, which was actually my favorite place from the property. I loved strolling around their garden discovering all the beautiful Provençal flowers and plants. The pool was also located at the back of this garden, surrounded by a green and blooms wall , so private and beautiful. If you are planning your trip through Provence, and now it is the perfect time to do that, I recommend you start with Orange and Au Vin Chambré for an amazing experience.
