    Could use some restoration

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in mid August. Location: about 10 min walk from JR Kushiro Station, 60 min by bus from Kushiro airport. The bus from the airport stops right in front of the hotel, so that was very convenient. Room: stayed in a twin room. Carpet is old and stained. Room size is fine for 2 persons. Outdated furnishings and bathroom/sink area. Aircon control only L/M/H, no temperature control, but small window on the side opens for fresh air. Beds with hard spring mattresses, which were fine. In all, everything was a bit outdated, carpet and wallpaper (peeling, stained, scratched) need refurbishing. Bathroom: ok sized bathtub, but the shower head is ridiculous. Water only comes out from the edge of the shower head providing a sprinkle at best. Again, needs to be updated. Breakfast: Japanese cuisine mainly, with some options for western style breakfast, such as runny scrambled eggs or mushy sausages. Japanese cuisine had not as much choice as advertised or documented in photographs. View from the 17th floor dining hall of the city and the bay area, but not exactly picturesque. Miscellaneous: room amenities could be better (amenities for only 1 person in a twin room occupied by 2 people.) Lobby convenience/gift shop has good selection of Hokkaido gifts. Staff was fine, though the overall atmosphere was a bit dark/sleepy/dull.

Nondescript hotel in sleepy seaside town of Kushiro

Had a brief overnight stay, at start of hiking holiday Lobby is bland, rooms are compact (a little stuffy), the breakfast area on 17th floor is bright with fine views of surroundings, breakfast selection not great There is a Massage facility on 8th floor Unfortunately no English Channel on TV, the rooms do not provide mineral water: you need to purchase from lobby kiosk

    Good place to relax

Had a relaxing stay at Kushiro Prince Hotel. The views from the upper floors looking out to the sea were spectacular especially at sunset. Easy access from Kushiro airport with a bus stop right outside the hotel. Easy walking distance to attractions nearby such as Fishermans Wharf, Kushiro Art Gallery and the Childrens Museum. Its an older hotel, so the room decor is looking a bit tired in some areas. Some of the reception staff were great and the cleaners were lovely. The souvenir/convenience shop staff let down our experience of the hotel. Extremely unusual to feel like we were an inconvenience in a Japanese shop after spending about ¥15000 on souvenirs. We avoided the shop after that. Overall a good base to visit Kushiro and surrounding areas.

    Solo in a Group Tour

Great place to stay as we wind up our tour of East Hokkaido. Good hub to jump off from before touring Kushiro area. Buffet breakfast offers tasty options and great service. Vending machine for midnight drinks available and Yukata refreshed daily for a good night's sleep. Remember to close the blackout curtains if you don't want to wake up at 4am Japan Standard Time. I jumped out from bed thinking it was 10am already one time. Thoughtful and sweet gesture from the staff with the Crane origami on my study table as a welcome gift.

    Disappointing language manner by receptionist

I stayed for on a business for 12 nights in total. Facility is quite outdated and room temperature is low even though setting was maximum. Hotel kindly provided an electric heater upon my request. However, the language of the receptionist was impolite and lacking respect to the guest. And then I wrote a letter of complaint to the manager. He never replied until I checked out a week later. Staff in general are polite and helpful, it is a real shame this man damaged the reputation. I will never ever come back to this hotel. Only good thing is skilled therapist in a refresh room. I enjoyed her amazing treatment 3 times during my stay.
