Excellent service and near the shopping streetWe checked in. The place is neat and tidy. Price is reasonable. When we went out, it was raining. The reception came out just to offer us an umbrella. Overall this place is near Den Den Town, the night life as well as the food street of Osaka, Dottonbori. Great place, great location, great price 5/5

Decent Stay5 of us stayed in a Type D room (11 Jyo). I felt it was a little cramped as most of us have big luggages. The room is pretty decent but it do looks a little run-down. We have a difficulty in connecting to our level's WIFI but managed to do so by joining the network from the storey below. The hotel's location is pretty good. 10 to 15 mins walk to Dotonburi as well as Shinsaibashi (the 2 popular shopping streets). Most of their staff speaks limited or no English and it makes communication a lot harder but they are still very friendly.

An easy stay in a lively district of OsakaRyokan review Osaka We stayed here for four nights while exploring Osaka and surrounds. The room while small did have adequate space for four (including two teenage boys), had a private toilet, bath and shower, TV, a fridge and heating. Our room on the fourth floor was easily accessible by elevator, but watch out it, the doors don't back off from closing and it can hurt if you get caught in the door. We had a very friendly reception on arrival and a tour of facilities including how to put on a yukata, you don't need to take your shoes off until you get to your own room here. The room was serviced every day and we got clean bedding and yukata as well. Don't be put off by the 80's dark feel of the place, it's well located and easily found (count blocks and cross roads rather than try and look for street names unless you can read Japanese). The staff were very helpful, running after us with umbrellas in the rain and always with a cheerful greeting as we came and went. I would recommend this as good stay in Osaka, easy to access by subway and plenty of options to eat in the lively Dotonbori district. If you want to buy a beer, walk a block and get it from a convenience store as the vending machines charge about double. The in room wifi Worked great.

A good hotel (except for the smoking)We stayed at Hotel Kuramoto for four nights and largely enjoyed our time there. The rooms were quite clean, if a little dusty. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. It is in a good spot, near to the food streets and public transport. The baths were good and very clean (the chlorine in the men's bath was a little strong but I'd prefer chlorine to mould). The lady that ran the hotel was very kind to both us and the children. She often welcomed us home with a cheery "okaerinasai". It is a budget hotel but a good one. The only real down side was the smoking which is allowed in the hotel. We took a previous reviewers tip and put a towel under our door which helped. The rooms didn't smell of smoke but you smelled it most of the night (if only faintly). It just took the edge off our stay and prompted us to rate it three instead of four.
