  worst service ever

  The owner of this place is so racist and she's black worst of all. First she was surprised that we are black because the person who booked for us does not have your known african surnames. then she accused one of our friends of stealing keys "imagine someone from JHB stealing keys from a CT guest house". she even called the police on us and when they arrived we gave them the keys because our friend had left them with us as he had other commitments in JHB. Worst of all our friend had to pay R3500 for keys he didn't take, Rosemary even googled our friend and found out he was famous and called his employers to claim he stole keys. we would not recommend this place to anyone, their attitude and service is disgusting to say the least.

  Exceptional hospitality

  The rooms are spacious and clean. The service is five star. It is a very quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Very good accomodation and a very friendly owner. We enjoyed our stay at Kumbaya and will certainly return! The owner arranged that we could park our car in her garage and this was much appreciated.

  Better then Home! Amazing place!

  we were received as kings by owners and staff. We got a free welcome drink, a big glass of wine and a beer we took which was much appreciated. This incredibly beautiful hotel has the owner Rosemarie furnishings herself and there is a great feeling for all the details. Each room had its own style and everything was perfectly combined to make you feel comfortable and feel like home. We stayed in the main suite which was incredibly romantic and beautiful, with a large bed separate large bathroom with jaccuzi and 2st sinks. The breakfast was good and home cooked which made it feel fresh and healthy. The owner helped us with everything we needed and made sure everything was organized so we would have a perfect experience! and that was exactly what we got. We could never believe we would find such a hotel for that price. If you are planning to go to Cape Town then stay at this wonderful hotel! You will not be disappointed and the owner will ensure that your stay is as wonderful as ours was. And if you are Swedish, bring a few extra snuff to the owner, she will appreciate it a lot! If you like Maria Montazami you will love this Hotel and everything with it.

  Thank you to all in Kumbaya Guest House and especially Rosemarie. I had an amazing time there, very relaxing, welcoming, friendly and a beautiful place to be . Highly recommended . Outstanding hospitality. Looking forward to visit this place again in the future.

  Another Cape town highlight

  When we arrived we were already welcomed with a free welcome drink, very much appreciated after a long flight. The guest house is a really beautiful place with many, many very nice and lovingly selected details everywhere (even after 9 days I was able to spot even more things!). But all arranged in a very harmonic and well balanced way that makes you feel home immediately. We had a really nice and clean suite with a balcony and a nice view above Bloubergstrand, which is SA kite surfer paradise :-) The breakfast we booked was almost to much sometimes and due to the exceptional hospitality of our host, different every single day! Saving the best for last: if you consider yourself to be a "not normal" person (since normal is boring), this is the place to be in Cape Town and Rosemarie is the person to get to know! Fabulous host, warm hearted and open minded person. Rosemarie alone made the Cape Town trip more than worthwhile :-) Definitely something (and someone) you should check out! Mr. Tim
