  Shocked by other reviews vs reality!

  We had planned three-day trip to Yelagiri and booked the best available resort at that time. We went by train to Jolarpettai Jn. then auto to the hotel, cut throat charges, be prepared if you're not going by your vehicle. The property is quite off the main road through a village meaning it's not near the nature park or the lake. So it's easy if you have your own car or you'll be paying 50-100-150-350..or whatever for whatever distances every time you step out of the hotel. Caution: there are no options of renting bikes or two-wheeler in all of Yelagiri. That's a wrong information on internet if you've seen any such service. Bicycles are available but not recommended as they are extremely costly and the area is hilly. Rs 80 for an hr/500 for a day? You can literally buy a cycle for Rs 2000! We arrive at the hotel just at the check-in time and rooms were made available within 10 mins. The hotel looks beautiful from the outside. White and gold, palace like, flowers everywhere. Some Roman like statues. okay! Now begins the daytime nightmare. Our room was on the ground floor facing the kids park. The floor was wet, dirty and stinking. So we tiptoed inside just to find a very average room, dirty sheets just stretched before the check-in, lacking basic amenities like towels, toiletries, room slippers, water bottle, water kettle, extremely poor Wi-Fi. Non smoking room that smells of smoke. That's not it, this room had and I quote 'THE WORST WASHROOM' I've ever seen in a hotel, no matter how cheap. Broken, dirty, smelly, the door wont close. Obviously we called the staff and requested for another room. After a while they showed us another room just beside ours, only worse. We had paid in full so there was no way out. Somehow he managed through the day. Next morning before leaving the room we requested the staff to service the room which they promptly acknowledged to. Very average breakfast, their restaurant claims to be the best in Yelagiri. I think that credits to highly limited options in all of Yelagiri. Upon our return before going to the room we ask the staff again about the cleaning and they say it's taken care of. Well when we go into the room, nothing had changed, all dirty. We felt like crying because we want to rest after a long day but the room. Anyways we showered in the horrible washroom and left for the evening reminding the staff again and this time they nodded like they're doing it right now. Guess what it's 8 in the night when we return and room is still garbage. We couldn't stand it called the front desk, got the staff to come in and clean...We waited outside, the hotel is family friendly meaning extremely noisy. There is no relief whether it's the restaurant, the pool the park...so loud throughout the day. So if you're looking for a quiet holiday, book another hotel. After 30 mins of waiting while the staff works when we check the room is still dirty, they changed the sheets, still dirty, new towels, dirty. Toiletries null. So clearly utterly untrained and careless staff and so is the service. We had given up. We went to bed regretting booking this place. We checked out next morning, to our relief. Extremely sad experience staying here, I'm sorry!

  Pool and restaurant are the highlights

  Positives: All rooms overlooking the big pool, an artificial water fall on the restaurant side, breakfast was good, they play a movie every evening in open air theater by the pool side which kids and elderly people might like. Negatives: Rooms need an upgrade (very old furniture and TV), service needs improvement.

  Nice Atmosphere

  Hotel placed at nice atmosphere, Rooms are VERY neat and clean, swimming pool also well maintained. Restaurant and foods are very good. Room service also very good. over all nice place to stay with family as well as friends.

  Nice hotel

  The hotel is quite big and a nice one, considering the limited options in Yelagiri. The rooms were quite big, had a nice swimmig pool, nice buffet with respect to the price, and had a bonfire. Rooms were quite spacious The location is slightly away from the main road and comes through a very narrow road across a village. We missed the road initially and came back later. The photos seem to increase your expectations but I guess, we need to temper them to reality, balance its good

  Nice Hotel

  Very good hotel to stay along with family/friends. Morning Breakfast was very good with variety of food items. Kids will definitely enjoy the atmosphere. During night hotel arranged for camp fire and open air movie which as a family we will definitely enjoy a lot.
