  EXCELLENT PLACE TO STAY IN AREOPOLI

  The Ktima Karageorgou is located a few blocks from the main square in Areopoli. The stone buildings are very nice and the rooms have everything including free WiFi. There is a large indoor/outdoor kitchen where they serve a nice included buffet breakfast. Free parking is available in front of the building and there is a very nice swimming pool and deck.

  Beautiful and relaxing base in Mani region

  We spent four days here in June 2019. We are a family of four (two teenaged children) and had a family room (12 I think). It was two levels on the backside of the compound which provided privacy and peace. We loved our stay here and wish we had booked longer. The family atmosphere is evident from the moment you arrive which adds an awesome sense of hospitality and warmth. Upon arrival, we were provided with a map and suggestions of day trips. The facility is wonderfully situated. Just up the road from the old town in areopoli, you have the benefit of being 5 minutes form the restaurants, shops, and cafes while having the quiet, compound feel of being on the edge of town. It is a short walk down the road. Some reviewers said it was far, but it really was easy. The facility feels small and although there were a number of guests coming and going, it never seemed busy bc everyone had a different schedule. The pool area is stunning - in a courtyard with a view of the mountain behind. You can get drinks, food, ice cream by the pool. Breakfasts are delicious with fresh baked goods, fruit from the garden, and fresh orange juice. Ask for yoghurt and enjoy it with local honey. The hotel was nicely situated for day trips, when you are ready to leave the pool. The mountains and windy roads require some driving to get around - so do expect to spend a couple of hours on the road. But, the destinations are worth it. Finally, we opted for dinner on-site one evening. It was a lovely choice, with appetizers, salad and lamb. A wonderful meal in the garden setting. If you like small-ish, family run boutique hotels for the experience of meeting people and enjoying personal hospitality, you will enjoy this luxurious spot as we did.

  Unpleasant experience!

  They hung in the bathroom the used towels we had left on the floor for change ... I think that sums up the sanitary conditions... Poor breakfast ... I would not recommend staying in Areopoli, few and poor restaurant options, the traditional settlement and surrounding areas have no interest for tourists beyond a brief walk to look around... DO NOT take up on the receptionist's advice and go to Batheia () village for a walk, the place is falling apart...we were trapped between the abandoned ruins...

  A very pleasant stay in a beautiful room and a lovely setting

  It is a lovely place with beautifully decorated rooms, clean, well presented. The setting of the hotel is very nice and the swimming pool is great. Recommended for families. The owners are lovely people. Pricing very reasonable

  Wonderful

  We have spent 2 nights in Ktima and this has been by far one of our best accommodation while we were in Greece. The property is beautiful and well maintained, peacefully nestled among the orange and olive trees. Our room was very clean with a balcony and all the necessary amenities in the bathroom. Our host provided us with a lot of very good tips to discover the Mani peninsula (and a very detailled map). Eventually the breakfast was just amazing, everything freshly baked and very tasty. The property is owned by a family and their hospitality is incredible.
