Good family hotel near the liftsStayed here with my family at New Year. We chose Finkenberg as I'd read that the lift would not be as busy as Mayrhofen and it wasn't. Didn't have to queue to get up the mountain although at new year it was busy at other lifts once up there. The hotel is about 200m away from the bubble, although it's a steepish walk to get there especially with ski boots on and carrying skis. There is a ski garage at the lift, so you only have do it the once if you plan. The hotel is comfortable and clean and we had a family room which has separate bedrooms. The food is good with a decent breakfast choice and a 5 course evening meal.

Perfect for active travellers with dogsThis family run hotel in the cosy town of Finkenberg in the Austraian Zillertal alps is in every way perfect as a good quality starting point for day hikes, and they welcome dogs too (we have a Golden Retriever so this is important to us). We loved the place from the day we arrived and was greeted very friendly and warmly by the hostess Barbara. Food (we opted for half board) is really good and ample, and service is quick and friendly. Location right next to the Finkenberger Almbahn cablecar, makes for an easy ride up the mountain and hiking for all levels. Only 15 min. drive from the Hintertux glacier with all its activities (icecaves, caves, skiing, hiking etc.) and a 5 min. drive from Mayerhofen, where two other cablecars depart from. The hotel spa is nice - 3 different saunas and a steamroom + relaxation area. (be aware that the spa area is unisex and clothing optional, and most visitors wear none - that is how it's done in Germany and Austria). 15 mins. in the steam room after a long days' hike is a true bless. Parking on site is easy and free. Dogs are allowed in the rooms and in the bar area, but not in the restaurants. We would go back here anytime - we loved it, and it's within a reasonable driving distance from Denmark, maybe with a nights' stop over en route. We had a room overlooking Mayerhofen (east), which we really loved, since that gives you the exact view that you see on the pictures. The view to the west is also good, but not as spectacular.

Excellent hotel with direct access to ski resortThe stay here was excellent. The hotel is located some meters away from the gondula and is easily accessible by foot. There is a seperate room for the storage of skiing equipment which conveniently also dries your boots. There is a spa area with several saunas which was excellent after a day of skiing. There were not too many people so it was nice and relaxing. There is a breakfast buffet which has everything one needs and more. The dinner varies ech evening and there are some courses wich are served and some which are a buffet course. The mix makes sure one can eat enough good food to fuel for the next day! The quality of the food was excellent! Would definitely stay here again!

Real cosy familyhotelReally nice hotel, next to the skilift. The welcome was distant but friendly. At the restaurant the service was unfriendly except for one man: Mr Gyula, he was really nice and he made our stay feel like home. Really nice welness. It isn't the poshest hotel, but everything you need is there and the rooms are very large.

Nice quiet centrally locatedWe stayed one night. We appreciated the chocolates and wine in the room. The breakfast was nice. Views were nice. Rooms were spacious and clean. We would give it 5* but did not find the staff particularly friendly, the lady at the front desk seemed too busy to share info about hiking in the area and did not give any info about the hotel when we checked in.
