    Quiet and peaceful

went there in April 2009 during Songkran and I booked the 'seaview' room which was not really a seaview, just near the sea. the room is just average, big but nothing to shout about. surrounding was great with hawkers stall nearby and a seafood bbq at night. parking would be a problem though as the hotel space is limited. well...it was kinda suburbs which is great if one wish to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Monkey Around At The Monkey Bar

Koram Resort is very basic; my wife and I stayed in the one of the seaview rooms, and yes you can sea the sea. The bathrooms aren't very well designed; but the bed is comfortable and the room was quite large, with a powerful air/con. Breakfast was included, and served in the Monkey Bar. The Monkey Bar is a fantastic place to eat classic Thai dishes, and they do a very good club sandwhich as well.Terrific margaritas in the evening (or anytime) looking out at over Sam Roi Yot beach on the Gulf of Siam. Prachuap Khiri Khan region is where the Thais go on holiday ... and I understand why: this place is a gem. The residents of this area are the friendliest in Thailand. We are already planning our next trip to Prachuap Khiri Khan, and we'll be checking into the Koram Resort ... that's if they have any rooms available.

    Lovely relaxing place

great place at the beach and just 5 km away from Samroiyod National Park, perfect for people who like to relax and enjoy the nature, a visit to Hua Hin (45 km) is possible, just ask Smithy, rooms are comfortable and clean (airco and bed are wonderfull), best of all are the people (Smithy - Kan - the kids - the staff - the locals) and the food off course, certainly the Thai dishes are great, the Monkey Bar is The Place at the beach, so easy to become friends with everyone, already thinking about going back

Wonderful staff and great base to explore Sam Roi Yot

Koram Resort is located 15m from the beach, so you couldn't really be closer if the beach is your "thing". The staff are wonderful especially the lady who owns it and her waiting staff in the 'Monkey Bar' - all of them made us feel super welcome and couldn't do enough for us. The rooms are dated and a little tired - however they were really clean and the bed was big and comfortable. The bathroom is very tiny and not so well laid-out, meaning it's a one person at a time. The fridge was large and the aircon worked well. Monkey Bar serves as the nighttime restaurant - lovely drinks and occasionally a live band which was great entertainment as it's basically the only nightlife in the whole resort. Breakfast was delicious with 3 options and was nice to sit and see the sea, just metres away. Our stay is 90% positive with the only negatives being that the rooms really need modernising and at B2,980 for 2 nights - it feels expensive compared to similar places we've stayed.

Avoid this one- especially with a family.

The hotel was not a "resort" - more like an old-school motel. It includes a popular bar (the Monkey Bar) that doubles as the restaurant. The rooms were large not very well cleaned (we found an old pair of underwear in the wardrobe). There was loud, live music every night at the bar until 11 or 12 making it hard to sleep (even after requests to turn it down so our children could sleep). The kitchen drains into an open cesspool right next to the hotel which bred a lot of mosquitoes. The bar attracts a lot of heavy drinkers and one patron passed out in the afternoon as our family was having lunch. The restaurant staff left him on the floor of the restaurant for several hours and he was still there when we passed in the early evening. There are many other hotels on this beach- many of which have pools, which the Koram does not. For families, I'd recommend others over the Koram.
