Suejoe02Arrived late evening, tackling the first hill to reception, then the second to our room was an achievement in itself especially when one case fell over and slid back to the bottom so steep. No kettle in room but after raising with staff got one next morning. Our room was nice only fault was our balcony was facing a brick wall, but after seeing we could be further again up the hill we stayed put.pool area was fine plenty beds,we used the large pool as it was near all amenities. Bar staff were fantastic, friendly. We booked all inclusive but self catering was an option, shop on site sold minimum products so if self catering you would have to go to stallis and taxi back with your goods. all inclusive was appalling no sanitiser on entry tables laid out with paper serviettes knife fork salt pepper on entry but we're not replaced after use for next people so they had to get there own, everything to drink was in disposable cups on all sittings. Two six foot rotundas one with limited salad lines the other hot food, every lunch, evening meal had pasta, pasta sce, Bolognese i was cautious about eating it as didn't know how many times the sces, Bolognese had been reheated. Then one fish dish,Vege dish, meat dish, show cooking area over the eleven nights consisted of chips Brussel sprouts or pasta burgers pork chicken nuggets fish fingers every three days.puddings were same daily ice cream, mousse, fruit. Snacks in-between meals consisted of one tray of sandwiches on bar area next day pizza then day after pie morning time. Afternoons was cake limited type. We did eat in some times but choose to get sandwiches from nearby bakery for lunch some days and ate out or had take away delivered with the lunch/evening meals consisting of same lines. Definitely needs a review of it's all inclusive option, we did not expect great things but we would rate the hotel a 3 star food 1 star. Maybe if the greeter to the restaurant interacted more with customers he could feed back to the owners the comments we did see people complain to him or they would walk in look round at what was available and walk out. I would not recommend this hotel which is a shame as magority of the staff were lovely, and our room was fine apart from view.

Koni Village HotelWe have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Koni Village Hotel. We arrived late in the evening and check in went smooth. In our rooms we had sandwiches, fruit and water waiting for us in the fridge, which was a nice touch. First impressions on the rooms we were given was that they are very basic but adequate we had air con, a fridge and hair dryer. I'm sorry to say the rooms could do with some attention. Also, on entering our room it had strange niff to it which seemed to disappear after being in the room a few days. The rooms we were given was103 and our friends was101, which are positioned on first floor rooms. We was considering a request to change but after careful deliberation we decided not to say anything about the strange aroma and decided to keep the rooms. Safe to say the pros to staying put well out did the cons. The positioning of the rooms meant less footfall which resulted in blissfull peace and quiet, which was lovely as during our stay there was a fair few families with younger children and babies in the hotel, a few other guests we spoke to had commented about being disturbed by crying babies. Another big bonus, we did not have to climb cardiac hill, I can not stress how hilly it is and with me having health issues it would have been a hard for me having to climb to the top of the steep hill every day. Also despite the smaller section of the hill, which I managed ok, we was close to all the amenities but far away not to be disturbed. The only down fall was the temporary smell, so we was quite happy to stay put. The maids do a good job as clean towels and bedding are provided and cleaned daily. Another big bonus is the pool areas, in which there are 2. The smaller one which was outside our rooms I think is intended to be a quiet pool but noisy children did encroach on the peace and quiet which would have been annoying to anyone who needed a bit of tranquility. As a suggestion to the hotel maybe put a sign up to advise parents that this is the chill out area and the big pool would be more suited to them. This would be a good idea, leaving anyone who wants peace and quiet alone, maybe, as a suggestion make that pool adult only. The big pool, where we have spent most of our time, is where the main bar is a big asset. There are plenty of sunbeds infact there is no very early morning dash to bag your bed it is just not necessary, there is plenty of loungers with brollies. The pool is spacous lovely and included is a kiddy pool and play area. The staff who work there are just wonderful and the hotel management should be proud of them. The restaurant staff and friendly, attentive and quick to clean tables. There are two bar men who serve drinks at the main bar area which is located next to the dining room and main pool. One during the day and one during the evening and both do a fantastic job. Michael who works during the evening is an absolute superstar and he is an asset to the hotel. The only downfall with this hotel is the food which can be hit or miss and very repetitive, with not a huge amount of choice. Breakfast usually consists of some kind of odd cereal, eggs, fried, boiled and sometimes scrambled, as well as some kind of meat manly Frankfurter style sausages, tomatoes, Greek style breakfast and some odd combinations like sprouts and potato croquettes. Lunch is pretty much very similar to evening meal where you will find salads, (watch out for the cold sprouts smothered in seafood sauce, yummy), vegetables, some fish and some kind of meat which may have a sign on to say chicken but it could be pork. You will always have spaghetti bolognese which is extremely salty and with it offered twice daily i do wonder how many times its reheated, hopefully my suspicions are wrong. Also offered is burgers, chicken or beef, pork kebabs (very salty) chips and rice. You also get a soup for the evening meal which isnt too bad. The food is well cooked but I'm sorry to say it isnt the best quality and there is a lot of room for improvement in that area. Also within the hotel is the option for treatment such as massages and facials and two ladies come round offering a range of treatments. We took up the option and all treatments were fantastic. My only criticism is the massage rooms are right next to the kiddy play area and pool, this can result in a lot of noise whilst having your massage. But I can understand why the rooms are where they are due to space. It would be nice to have the smaller pool adult only and position the treatment rooms there. The location is good with a ten to fifteen minute walk down to the main strip in Stalis. Turn left at the hotel gate until you come to a tunnel walk under the tunnel which is opposite the Cactus Hotel. Walk past the Cactus and bingo you have the beach, bars and shops. Despite the food I have really enjoyed my stay here and would come again. It is a three star hotel and despite my comments in regarding the food it has been worth the money we paid for the holiday. I would like to thank the hotel management and staff for everything they have done.

HolidayWeve just returned from a two week all inclusive holiday, the hotel is lovely, its up a hill but we were told about that, nice and private and lovely views, the room was nice and big and cleaned on a regular basis, pool and surrounding areas lovely, the bar area was nice and the bar staff especially Micheal who works every evening is an absolute diamond, made us very welcome from day one, it was sad to say goodbye to him, THE FOOD!! Breakfast was ok but the rest was terrible!! They dont cater for everyone and some of the food was disgusting, few people being sick after eating there, we spent a lot of money eating out which you shouldnt need to do if your all inclusive, the man who greeted you in the restaurant if you can call that, was rude and abrupt!! We would have loved to go back but until they sort the food we would never go back to Koni

All inclusive money for self catering holiday!!!Just returned from a weeks all inclusive at koni village. The hotel itself is gorgeous well presented and clean, the rooms are spacious and cleaned daily, HOWEVER the food is absolutely VILE and not edible at times, no children's choices, there was pictures of animals at the side of each dish but we were never sure if this was the case ( chicken looked like pork). Not much choice of food 1 of each meat, fish and vegetarian options so if you didn't like these you starved, my wife is quite adventurous with food but she had chips n bread the first night we ate out after that, we lived on toast n jam for breakfast and only risked lunch a couple of times one being our last full day when we had what looked like lamb koftes ( picture of lamb at the side) which ruined our last day/night as my daughter was sick due to eating dodgy koftes. Told reception i needed clean bedding as she was sick on her bed there was no concern shown by the member staff on duty, a guy came to the room not to long later with fresh bedding and literally shoved the fresh bedding into my wifes arms and didnt even speak to her. Barman at night seemed friendly enough always pleasant and polite and often waved as we were passing through, the barman in the day was rude and i feel favoured foreign guests as he never spoke to myself and would greet other guests from different nationalities like "hello sir how are you today" ( i have nothing against people from other countries check my previous reviews)also my wife asked if he had a plaster he just said no and didnt try to assist her in anyway. All inclusive bar menu was ok however i was concerned how much alcohol was in the beer and cocktails as never once did i feel any affect from it, it was more like non alcoholic beer. We ate and drank out every night as the food and drink were of a very poor standard, me snd my wife visited this hotel 9 years ago when it was self catering and we loved it. I do feel it is clever by the owners to serve unedible food and non alcoholic drinks so they can charge for all inclusive but then customers will go out to eat and drink so customers aren't eating or drinking in the hotel. Also the pool is FREEZING so we went to the beach everyday as the sea was a lovely temperature so again not using hotel facilities. Overall the the hotel is easy on the eye but for a all inclusive hotel it is very very poor and unfortunately we will never be returning!!!!
