  Thank You

  To start with a massive thank you to the Management and all Hotel Staff. Stayed mid September on a Thomas Cook Package holiday when they went bust. We was all inclusive and the Hotel let everyone stay on in their rooms, with no disruption to the holiday, so for that, we both say a massive thank you when the hotel had a financial black cloud over it. Hope you come out the over side of this ok. The rooms were comfortable and linen and towels changed every day 10/10. The choice of food was very good as we are both quite picky on what we eat, and we had enough breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The location was good for us as we liked to walk and it is a leisurely 20 minute stroll to the centre of the resort. To finish off the entertainment worked hard and a special special mention to Felicia (Dutch Girl) who went that extra mile to ensure that you had an exceptional holiday and she made sure she was there to say goodbye when we left.

  2 week stay and secret wedding...

  Guys, this really is a great hotel ! Its so good that I have to write a review even though were only half way through our stay. We already know that we want to come back. Were a couple with a 10 year old daughter and this hotel is a real find. We both appreciate some down time when away without the usual loud strip of pubs outside or poor hotel karaoke. It usually takes me a few days to get out of work mode but I relaxed the moment we arrived. As the title says we also planned a wedding at the nearby Filerimos cross while we were here. There is some entertainment but it ends at 11pm sharp and the whole area is so chilled and peaceful afterwards. There are 3 pools (main, childrens and quiet) all of which have plenty of space and new sun loungers. Ive attached a photo of the quiet pool in the middle of the day and as you can see, quiet is an refreshing understatement. Guys, the hotel is immaculately clean with an army of cleaners that start their day by sweeping the paths and road together. Rooms are cleaned daily and the ninja cleaners are in and out in a flash. The family rooms (again, panorama photo attached) can be divided in half with a huge sliding door with each area having its own air con control unit. The staff, without exception, are all super friendly and accommodating. The manager here even gifted wine and a basket of fruit to our room. Also, as we arrived late (after 11pm) from the airport there was some food waiting for us in our room. I do appreciate that Im writing this just after the effect of the Thomas Cook issue has taken effect on the kids-club, but nonetheless, the whole vibe of this hotel is to relax you. Some rooms face more towards the sea while others like ours face the mountains (again, photo attached) The food is great. Theres usually about 14 hot choices and an abundance of fresh Greek style salads to chose from at every sitting. The staff can also be seen cooking another 4 or so just as you walk into the dinning room. The desserts are a mix of traditional Greek sweet dishes and a chocolate fest. If youre looking for a place thats a little quieter than the norm, has a 5 minute flat walk to the beach and is safe and friendly then visit this hotel. Weve loved every minute here.

  Excellent hotel for families. Friendly staff, great food!

  We are enjoying our very last day at Sunconnect Kolumbia Star hotel. We had sunny and warm October break(26C +-). Due to the Thomas Cook going bust, the hotel was very empty but the entertainers did a good job trying to get people envolved in the night shows or day activities. We had some great nights and lovely days exploring the island and snorkeling in its clear waters. The food was really good and the staff always make you feel welcome. I would definitely recommend this hotel. There is not much around but, if you want to relax or don't mind getting the local bus or renting a car, it is a lovely place to stay. Places not to miss: Lindos with the Acropolis and St Paul's Bay, old Rhodes town, biggest waterpark in Europe if you like water rides and sambika beach (10min drive from Kolymbia) unspoiled sandy beach.

  Never again

  Came here for a week with my family and before I begin the only thing that saves this place are the staff in the restaurant. FULL of Germans so all entertainment was aimed at anybody other than English speaking.

  annual holiday

  As repeat customers to this hotel,we were again more than happy with our holiday. From check-in to check out the staff were excellent.The cleaners and house maids keep the hotel spotless. The wide variety of food in the restaurant is very good.The Head Chef is available at all times to answer any queries. Manolis and George in the main bar and Siva in the Taverna looked after us for the two weeks we were there. Savvas the general manager is very approachable and handles any complaint quickly. The animation teams keep adults and children busy day and night The three pools are very busy but have plenty of sunbeds. We will certainly return next year.
