DOG OWNERS STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE!After reviewing the website were were thinking that this would be a wonderful place to stay for the last of our vacation. After registering and paying and having Google maps lead us well out of the way to get there we were informed that there is a $250.00 fee for the fur baby and a $200.00 cleaning fee. Your dog also has to stay in their kennel or on a leash. We were also told that this was listed on their website. Double checked didn't see anything about dogs. Then they refused to give us a refund until an argument ensued and a customer was waiting in line to check in who was overhearing the conversation. If you are a dog lover this is the worst place possible to book a stay.

Nice escape from the desertThey have a lodge and cabins to stay in. You are located in the mountains, and there are plenty of trees. Tonto (stupid) creek flows through the lodge property, and you can do some fishing. Lots of activities for the kids....basketball, horse shoes, playground, putting, pool and hot tub (with algae). There is nearby horses for riding. A two bedroom cabin goes for well over $200, which seemed high. The staff was very friendly.

FUN IN THE PINESWe stayed here last week. We had a studio room in the lodge and it was really nice for 2 people. They furnished everything that you might need. There was a patio off the room accessible through the sliding glass door. There are dozens of activities; something for everyone.

Family GetawayWith all of the craziness of 2020 our family needed some r&r. Kohls ranch was exactly the place we needed to escape to. The cabins are spacious and generously priced. We had a two bedroom cabin with a full kitchen & living room. Our porch overlooked the creek and beautiful trees. I highly recommend booking horseback riding...The entire family enjoyed it. The hotel has many amenities that couples & families can partake in while staying on the property.

Chasing SnowMy husband brought our family here in December to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary. It was such a great trip! We stayed in a two bedroom deluxe cabin. Its so roomy! If you like cooking, youll like the large kitchen. We made a list of a few extra things wed bring the next time we come up: a mixing bowl, an extra saucepan, some tongs, trash bags (theirs are weak), and plastic dishes for the kids (because they have all glass). If I could change one thing, itd be the couch...the cushions slide off. Im constantly pushing them back into place to sit down. So, now we are back! A couple of weeks ago, the forecast showed that it would snow on Wednesday and maybe Thursday, so my hubs booked a cabin again. This time we are in the regular two-bedroom. Its a lot smaller but I dont mind it. It has a more traditional cabin feel. There are a few minor-ish downsides: the lighting is really low, theres not a king-sized bed in either room, almost no dresser space, and the couch still sucks lol. But, we LOVE the back deck and the peach cobbler at the restaurant! The creek is so peaceful (even with two boys under the age of 6). The grill on the deck is so clean and ready to use. Here are a few notes about the property: They have an oversized chess board and all the pieces in what I would call the common area behind the main lodge building. Theres a large sand court (probably for volleyball when the CDC allows it), a full-sized basketball court for which you can borrow a basketball from the front desk. There used to be a playground but they removed it during our December visit (thanks CDC)...I hope theyre installing a new one once the restrictions are lifted. They have a nice swimming pool (normally heated but the heater is broken right now) and the hot tub is pretty standard. They also have a nicely maintained putting green. And the main lodge has some fun games in the upstairs space, including a hand crafted large connect four game...so cool! Welp, thats about it. Its a very nice relaxing and fun place to visit! Well be back in March
