Fantastic view in the most central location

The hotel lies slightly elevated in the heart of the old town in a very quiet area. In a few minutes you can reach the most important sights or walk through the nice lanes with their shops and bars ( however, no nightlife there). A few private parking spaces near the house. The entrance is located in the restaurant, with full occupancy it can perhaps get a little noisy in the adjacent rooms. From my big and traditionally furnished room I had a nice view to the old and new town. Everything is very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. Small but fine breakfast buffet. All meals (dinner as usual - there are many restaurants nearby) can also be taken on the terrace. From there you have a beautiful view of the city and the castle above. A few meters above there is an OpenAir Bar, from where the view is even more beautiful.

    Great location, great service!

Loved our stay here for 2 nights. The staff are all very friendly and make you feel like you are part of the family. The accommodation is very well maintained, clean and has a lolvey traditional style to it not to mention an amazing view. Klaudio looked after us very well at dinner and is a lovely young man! Breakfast was also very good. Highly recommended.

A delightfully charming haven after a hot tiring visit to the Gjirokaster Castle

What a fairy tale place! The hotel room is so charming! First, it's two rooms, not one. The first bedroom when you enter is the bedroom and after that is the living room with the T&B. We had the corner room 109 and there were windows all around. The windows were state of the art and covered with see through lace that south Albania is known for. There's even lace in the sofa and coffee tables. But it's the decor and meticulousness of detail that just absolutely impresses. There are carpets on the wood laminate floor and the wooden carvings ar everywhere - on the bed frame, the headboard, the ceiling, the L-shaped sofa frame, the coffee table. Each room has its own split type ac. The living room has a decorative fireplace done in old Ottoman style. There are decor items everywhere. It's like the hotel owner would really like you to feel at home. The chandeliers alone are works of art. Cabinets are high quality. They did miss out though on a trashcan in any of the two rooms. And clearly, they're not expecting business travellers since there is no work desk or ergo chair. The T&B has its own window and the walls and floor are tastefully done in stone, as is the sides of the fireplace. The toiletries are similarly impressive. The views are to die for. On the two sides of the hotel room, you look out over the Ottoman style houses below in the Old Town. In fact, Hotel Korda is considered part of the UNESCO WHS because of its viewpoint - it has a great view of the Old Town below and the castle above. The restaurant has both an indoor and outdoor portion with everyone going for tables outside because of the fantastic view. We ate the complimentary breakfast which was quite ok, with the usual standards - eggs, hot meats, cucumbers, tomatoes, cereals, breads, watermelons, butters, jams and cheeses, and self-serve coffee. We also ate dinner and the menu is quite varied. The soups are always great and they offer, Greek, Italian (of course), and traditional Albanian - and the price is quite reasonable - we paid 2000 lek that included a half later of wine carafe. And the staff really go out of their way. On the day we arrived - it was pretty late at 8 pm - there was an outdoor music festival and they weren't allowing cars into the Old Town. But the Kodra team had set up their people and they had pre-cleared with the police at the checkpoints and the people must have been wondering who those VIPS were who just arrived and all the gates and barriers were being cleared for them! The wait staff were also very friendly and obliging. Absolutely two thumbs up!

    Wonderful hotel!

On the way to Gjirokaster the hotel kindly contacted us to advise some of the roads up to the hotel are closed for roadworks. They made sure we knew where else we could park and offered to collect our bags. When we arrived we were given the most beautiful suite, with the most fantastic views all over the old and new town. It was furnished in a traditional way, giving a real sense of the majesty of the place. The room was spotlessly clean, huge comfy bed, massive hot shower and great buffet breakfast. The staff spoke good English and were very helpful, they really looked after us well. We stayed for one night in real luxury and felt very sad to leave. Very reasonably priced, great food and wine in the returant and fantastic views. Would only ever stay here if we ever returned to Gjirokaster
