Pros and Cons here, be sure what's important is one of the "pros"We stay in the Lehigh Valley every summer to visit family. We stay in a motel. This year we saw this property and didn't remember seeing it before. I think it must have come into the Knights Inn fold sometime in the last year or so. It's a Knights Inn not the Ritz Carlton. In lower-priced motels we look first for safety. What is the key system like, what are the doors like, are there extra chains. This motel has a good key system and good sturdy doors and there was a chain. For us the basics include what is breakfast like, is there decaf coffee and for days when we stay two or three nights, do we get fresh towels. And, hey, we like TV, so how does it work. First there is no breakfast here. This is the first Wyndham property at any level that we've stayed in that doesn't offer breakfast However, in all fairness, there is no immediate place for it. Across the dangerous highway there is a breakfast place. Faster people than we might get across. A chit for a dollar or two off for breakfast would be nice. There was a pot of coffee on a burner,in an alcove by the check-in area, but I can drink only decaf so I don't know about it. We stayed three nights. Because it's a challenge getting up and down stairs we asked for a downstairs room on our reservation which the motel gets before we arrive. In more than 10 years we can count on one hand the number of times we haven't been able to get a downstairs room and now we can add one more time. In the three nights we were there not one ground level room that opened up for us. But yes, I understand there is no guarantee of any guest request. We were gone most of the next day so when we retiurned we were quite surprised to find that the room had not been serviced. When I contacted the front desk to mention it and ask about it, the clerk asked me if we had requested service. I said that no, we hadn't, but that I thought service was an normal expectaton. The clerk said, no, it wasn't. The next day someone did come and left towels but didn't make the beds. And the beds were not made up during our stay. On the other hand, the room had been painted in the past year or two, the flooring was nice and clean, and the beds were comfortable. The TV worked when we checked in then it didn't. We weren't there enough to be concerned, but did bring it up the next day. The clerk promptly came up and replaced it, a flat screen TV, which worked fine the rest of our stay. Wi-Fi is excellent. We have a game player who had no trouble logging on and keeping up with her game. The stairs were near the office. In walking up the stairs we walked through smoke.

Ok for a 1 night stayWe just stayed 1 night. It was not bad for just a one night visit. The price was really good and it we only slept in the room. We did not use the shower. The bad thing is the room's heat is off. So when you first get there your room is freezing... The location was great. Near everything.

DisappointmentThe room was unlocked when we arrived. Turns out it only locked by thumbturn if you were inside. The room smelled of smoke and since it was laminant floors it was coming from the beds and linens. The wifi didn't reach the end of the building where our room was so we had to rely on using our cellular data while in the room. The phone in the room did not work (no dialtone). There were flies in the room. The curtain was barely holding on to the bent curtain rod and was falling apart from its backing. We weren't convinced the sheets had been changed despite the made beds. The mini-fridge leaked onto a piece of luggage we had sitting next to it during the night. It was a place to sleep only and if we could have found another at that time of night we would have not stayed.

I had to call the police on the front desk clerk. We had to call the police on the front desk clerk at 3AM. DON'T STAY HERE! On the second night of a two evening stay our room keys both stopped working. We went to the front desk to get new ones and the lights were on, the door was unlocked, but nobody was present. We rang the night bell, called both phone numbers, hollered, did everything in our power to gain the attention of inattentive staff. There was no response. After a half hour of waiting, we noticed the door to the adjoining room was closed. The previous night I noticed it was open and contained a bed - a sleeping quarters for the front desk clerk, I presumed. We went outside and saw through a window into the room that a light was on in the room and a person was occupying the bed. We knocked on the window and there emanated what I can only describe as a ghastly moan. Further attempts to make contact went unanswered. It was at this point that we decided to call the police. After a total of one hour waiting from the point that all of this nonsense commenced, two police cars and an ambulance showed up. The officers went behind the front desk, opened the door, and returned to tell us that the front desk clerk was sleeping and that this was not the first time they had to come here for this issue. The police then informed us we were on our own to get him out of bed. We had to stand in his doorway for ten minutes speaking to him, eventually yelling, before he would leave his bed. The experience was not only uncomfortable, but we felt deeply unsafe.
