  Good hotel

  Hotel Kintetsu UNIVERSAL city is a official hotel of universal studio japan.The location of this hotel is near UNIVERSAL city station and this hotel is the closest official hotel to universal studio japan. So it is convenient to go to the hotel and you can go to the USJ in 5 minutes. Also people who stays this hotel can enter the USJ 30 minutes early. You dont need to wait for long time to buy tickets. Also this hotel has various kinds of rooms. For example, character room and studio view room. Character room has two kinds of rooms, Sesame Street room or woody woodpecker room. Each room have a lot of paintings of character on the wall or some furnitures. It is very cute. So you can enjoy the atmosphere of USJ in these rooms too. Studio view room has great view of USJ and around the hotel. You can enjoy the beautiful view in this room. So I can recommend these rooms to everyone from small child to elderly people. And this hotels price is a little cheaper than other hotels. The price of normal room is about 10,000 yen. But breakfast or dinner fee is not included. If you want to eat restaurant of this hotel, you have to reserve the room with breakfast and dinner plans or pay additional fee. However there are many different kinds of restaurants in UNIVERSAL CITY WALK which is entertainment shopping facility adjacent to USJ. For example, Macdonald or Japanese restaurant, steak restaurant. So everyone can enjoy not only restaurant of this hotel but also other restaurants. And there are convenience store and drugstore in UNIVERSAL CITY WALK too. So you can buy all things you need there. The time we can check in is from 3 oclock p.m and the time we can check out is 11 oclock. The staff is at front desk for 24 hours, you can ask anything when you are in trouble and they are very kindly. However, there are some weak points. This hotel was built nearly 20 years ago. So this hotel looks a little old. And sometimes you may hear a little voice or noise from next to room or corridor of the hotel. But, I really want to recommend this hotel to many people who plan to visit USJ. I think that everyone can spend the great time and have great experiences at this hotel.

  Very close to Universal Studios

  Hotel is a great base for visiting USJ as the park is less than 5mins walk. It is on Universal walk so lots of restaurants and shops surrounding it. Accommodation is good but it is short of 2 stars on this occasion for us because despite booking 5 months ahead of a NON SMOKING character room, we checked in, in the evening to find we were given an old Character room which was a Smoking room on the smoking floor. We were only here for 1 night so check in was smooth and staff nice enough, they also had a card a small gift for my niece wishing her happy birthday. It was late and I didn't want to make a fuss and the windows could open and there was an air purifier in the room, so I thought I could bare it just till morning. However, it was cold so we had to close the window and then the smoking smell on everything became apparent. I tried to sleep but started experiencing a asthma attack coming on. (good thing I brought my meds). At this stage I knew we cannot stay in that room so I went downstairs and asked reception if we could change rooms. I explained to her that I specifically booked and even emailed to ensured room was non smoking. She checked her computer went somewhere to the back and then told me the non smoking room was all booked out. At this stage my lungs was tightening and I was willing to sleep anywhere but the smoking room or the smoking floor. So I asked her again (nicely) and explained that I didn't want to make a fuss but I was getting really ill. She can see that my asthma is no joke and I was already struggling to breathe and would rather camp at reception than go back to the dreaded smelly room. She checked her computer again and told me there is a room but not a character room and it is non smoking. We were promptly moved and she was very helpful and helped us move our things to the new room. The new room was wonderful, it was new and it smelt fresh. Was disappointed as I booked this hotel specifically for the sesame St character room for my niece's bday and got some old stinky smoking room. (Why would a family stay in a smoking character room that is a health hazard for kids I will never know!) I did appreciate being able to move rooms although it took a lot of convincing.. if I wasn't coughing and dying at the reception desk, I'm sure they wouldn't move us.

  Room with a good view of USJ

  We are a family of 4 adults and occupied the corner family room with 4 very comfortable super single beds. Our room had a good view of the USJ as well as wave to hotel guests opposite our block. We are within walking distance to the train station and ferry pier. As I had a fall in Kyoto and fractured my left big toe prior to my arrival in Osaka, the hotel wheelchair was not available for me to use outside the hotel - e.g. for shopping nearby. Most of the hotel staff do not speak English, however the hotel staff tried very hard to help me with my requests. They were very patient and accommodating. My suggestion to the management is to have more staff members learn English language. Another suggestion is to make the hotel more handicap friendly. Hotel Kintetsu should allow guests to use the wheelchair to go shopping around the hotel area. I could have enjoyed my stay in Osaka despite my "handicap" if wheelchair was allowed to be used. I hope the hotel Management will look into improving on this aspect. The Manager in-charge was going by the books (following rules with no compassion).

  The room was so cute and close to USJ

  Hotel Kintetsu Universal city is in Osaka. It takes about 2 minutes from JR universal city station by train.You can go this station about 40 minutes from Shin Osaka station.It is easy to go. I found this hotel on internet.This hotel has special rooms.It is Sesm Streets floor. This floor is original design and some characters are so cute.Of coarse, each room has character. I stayed in Sesame Street exciting fun room. It was so nice, and characters like Elmo and Cookie Monster are so cute.I felt happy because they welcomed us. These characters are not only living room but also bathroom. I was so surprised to see it.In addition, it is close to Universal Studio Japan. You can buy USJ ticket in this hotel. But there are some smoking room.So if you want to reserve a nonsmoking room, please check carefully. Without it, you might be in the smoking room. That room smells bad.If you want to change non-smoking room, tell about it to staffs. They will change another room because they are so kind. But if the hotel is the crowd, you cant change.So be careful!! Also, meals are so delicious. You can eat in the hotel.It is a buffet. So you can eat what you want to. I recommend you to go for dinner because you can eat seasonal meals.For example, if you go there in October, you can eat Halloweens meals. It has pumpkin cakes. It looks so cute and delicious. I went to there in January, so the meals were normal. They are so good, and I want to eat them but the cost is a little expensive. But around the hotel, there are a lot of restaurants. If you dont book a hotel's restaurant, DONT WORRY. You can eat many kinds of foods around it. You can eat ramen, udon, and hamburgers. Their cost is cheaper than the hotels one. I went to the cafe near this hotel in the morning. The breakfast was so delicious and it costs only 500 yen. Moreover, the facilitys atmosphere is so good. I took a lot of pictures of them But their business hours are so short that if you want to eat them, you have to go there as soon as you can. Otherwise, you will eat convenience stores foods. I recommend families because this hotel is good for children. It has a restaurant and cute design rooms. Around the hotel has Universal Studio Japan. You can check your baggage even if you are not staying. So you can focus on your children. You can enjoy your trip if you stay here.

  First time in USJ

  Hotel is super close the train station, not to mention the park´s front gate. Also there are many shops and food locations at citywalk. Really nice staff. Room was clean and cozy.I would stay again for sure
