  Stayed for 2 weeks at the Kiniras Taverna. If looking for sleek,modern,impersonal hotel this is not it. Something quirky and extra special. The epitome of a family run hotel in the centre of town. George, his family and all the other staff looked after us extremely well. A little gem of a place and we'll be back. Nearly forgot to mention excellent food that George cooks.

  Comfortable friendy hotel

  Spent a week at Kiniras. The room was clean and comfortable. George and his staff were all friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a huge choice of foods. Would definitely stay there again.

  Generous hospitality

  Stayed here for 5 nights and felt very well looked after. The hotel i rustic and traditional, with kind and friendly staff. They allowed us to keep our room until the evening as we had a late flight. The food in the restaurant is superb and we ate here 3 times. It is in the old town but very easy to get to the seafront more touristy area. It was our first time in Cyprus but when we return we will stay here again. I would recommend to those who prefer a small, traditional simple hotel with staff who look after you, rather than a large modern touristy place. The quaint courtyard area is lovely, its a pity it wasn't quite warm enough to eat breakfast there. Thankyou to all the staff.

  Staying here is a MUST if you want a family run traditional hotel that treats you like family

  I chose Kininas because of the wonderful reviews about George, his family and their traditional old hotel with breakfast included. The reviews were spot on! Even at the beginning of the reopening after Covid, they served a full Cypriot breakfast and made sure I was well taken care of. The food was fantastic, the room was spacious, very clean, comfortable huge beds and a fridge, air conditioning, TV and a beautiful balcony that overlooked a main walking street with views of a beautiful old church in the old town. The location is great if you are looking to stay in the old town. A bus took me from the airport to about 200 meters from the hotel for 1.50! The bus system is complicated in Cyprus because its not on google maps so you dont know when they are coming and where they are going, but all the buses you need to get anywhere are within 200 meters of the hotel. There is a wonderful traditional restaurant at the hotel where they make everything in house from local farms and omas recipes! as well as many other great options within walking distance. I really enjoyed getting to know George, Michael and the rest of the family who all work there in various capacities. My morning conversations over coffee about life, meaning and philosophy where a real treat! I was leaving early on a Sunday morning and George arranged transportation as well! Thank you for a lovely time in Cyprus! I will be back!

  George is the best

  Stayed here for 3 nights, whilst the rooms are quite traditional they are lovely and clean and George the host is the very best. Breakfast is included, the usual Cypriot style with lovely fresh fruit as well. I really enjoyed the scrambled eggs, not sure if it was 2 or 3 but cooked to perfection. Staff were checking if you required anything else, more coffee, more toast etc, really good and friendly. The outside garden is very tranquil with mature trees that provide lots of shade. Due to outdated gps we travelled all round the old town before finding the hotel on a pedestrianised street so look for Kennedy sq and park somewhere close. There is the 618 bus across the road which takes you down to the port for 1.50 euro. Taxi back is 8/10 euro so recommended if you want to drink.
