River Lodge for 3 nightsAnother covid closedown across the country but managed to book one of these lodges for 3 nights. Checkin was supposed to be a rather late 4pm but as we abandoned a walk due weather we called in and where grateful to get checked in by 1pm. We had Oak lodge, like the rest, a two bedroom, extremely well equipped and very comfortable little (but surprisingly large) lodge. Both bedrooms, one double and one twin where both en-suite with supplied towels and toiletries. The bedding was of a good quality and the kitchen superbly equipped with everything you would need if you wanted to cook your own food, as we did as everything was closed due Covid. The private views out to the river where lovely, and you have your own little jetty where we launched our kayak. I was looking for faults, and though I had one when we arrived and found about 6 inches of leaves all over the place, paths and even patio tables. But the next day we returned to find every cabin had the outside cleared of all leaves - an amazing feat! If you want one criticism its the frosted glass doors to the en-suite. A visit to the bathroom at night has the whole bedroom lit up - a blind on the back of the door would fix this. Though no food or drink could be got from the hotel, the pool and outdoor hot tub was available and throughly enjoyed with the pool a nice temperature. 10am checkout appears to be a bit early - but maybe we will ask for another hour just to see the response. Overall, a lovely break and will definitely consider returning in the summer and bring some family & friends along.

Good standardWe stayed just as new lock down measures were put in place in NI but plenty of places to get take out or delivery in the town. The accommodation is very nice and was spotless. The Hotel provides towels and basically everything you would find in a hotel room. Kitchen is well equipped. Depending on how long you stay - maybe bring some spare tea towels but Im sure you could get some from Reception. The only downside was, as some folk have already mentioned, is the automatic lights in the bathrooms together with the extractor fan. The light stays on for several minutes after you get back in to bed! And ... it is bright people! Not a good idea to have a frosted glass door between the bedroom and bathroom. Our adult daughters were in agreement that they had the same problem in their room. A blind maybe could fix it? We had an Assistance Dog with us so no extra charge for her but if you are bringing a pet, there will be a cleaning charge. You can park right beside your Lodge. Beautiful scenery and very relaxing Would recommend.

PerfectStayed in the lodges for 3 nights, cleanliness was fantastic. Couldn't recommend more, really cosy in the perfect setting with plenty of privacy. Jackie was super friendly and helpful on arrival and explained everything, even got a dip in the out door hot tub!

Bathroom light an issueWe stayed in a lodge for a week. The lodges are beautifully furnished and well thought out, with nice decor and plenty of storage. They arent huge but theres enough space and theyre designed well. Theres plenty of kitchen utensils and they give you washing up liquid, tea, coffee, milk etc and the kitchen is well designed with small dishwasher and washing machine. The view from the lodges is spectacular- right on the Lough and theres generous parking. The shower is lovely and hot and theres good pressure and lots of hot water. The lodges are designed so that each is set back from the next to allow more privacy and the blinds mean you can block any side view. We saw loads of wildlife out of the window and lots of boats going past it was idyllic. The location is brilliant, right near Eniskillen town and Tesco and a short drive to many places of beauty and walks. On the flip side, the bathroom light was a real issue. When you enter the bathroom the light and fan go on automatically and stay on for several minutes.. the glass bathroom door means that the light goes through into the bedroom in the middle of the night and its super bright. Its a poor design and really interrupted our sleep to the point where we ended up going out of the bedroom, through the other bedroom and used the bathroom in there if we needed the loo in the night! Its a really poor design and we arent the first to mention it. It would be quite easy to resolve, what a shame the hotel havent taken note of these comments. Sadly it would stop us going there again. A few other minors - the lodges are beautifully decorated but having been in use for a few years there are lots of stains / marks, huge chips in walls and general repair issues that need addressed - some filler, a fresh lick of paint and new skirting board throughout would resolve. The shower heads in both showers were fixed in the wall, no shower attachment. Difficult to rinse out the bath or shower the dog without an attachment. The sofas are very hard and uncomfortable. We had a dog friendly lodge and the sofas were covered in stains, we bought our own throws/ blanket to cover the sofas so our dog didnt dirty them. But others havent done the same. The hotel could provide covers for them perhaps. Its not possible to set your own heating timing, it will was coming on at 4/5 am and at night around 10. The king size bed is huge and very plush but had a mattress topper that wasnt big enough and wasnt tied on. It kept bunching up and we were constantly pulling into back into place. All of this is minor and could be resolved and it would make the lodges excellent.
