    What a dump!

Every square inch of this place is worn, tired and dirty. There're huge piles of torn carpet and thrown away furniture in the parking lot. There is a pile of refuse in the parking area directly below our room. We have our room door open to try to remove the musty smell. There's a hole in the wall where someone ripped out the phone. You don't want to stay here.

Not perfect, but decent room... as long as you are not disabled!!

We made a reservation for a handicapped room. I'll give the good first: The room was reasonably clean and seemingly recently remodeled, though the tub faucet dripped water constantly. There is a micro and fridge in the room, a lounge chair, a table and 2chairs, and we had 2 double beds. Not the greatest beds in the world, but for the price (and area) they were decent. I would give them a 5 out of 10. That's where it ends. At check-in, I used the restroom in the lobby. GROSS! Then was told they did not have handicapped rooms!! I voiced my displeasure, but we had little choice of anywhere else to go, and the young lady working there certainly did nothing out of her way to rectify the situation. We were simply offered a downstairs room in either the front or the back of the property, but the only wheelchair ramp was in the front. (One of us was wheelchair bound, the other crippled and walks with a cane) - So we took the front. With no handicap parking, it was most difficult to get out of the car into the wheelchair, so I finally pulled the car out into the lot just to get my friend out. Then walked 30 feet to the ramp, and the 30 feet back to where our room was located, then moved the car into a space. We saw only one handicap parking space for the entire motel. This is only the beginning! We did not attempt to use the micro, but the fridge didn't work, or was not plugged in because it never got cold. I am not able to move furniture to trouble shoot, and we were less than willing to walk back to the office, so we just did without. I had to pull the bed away from the wall to reach a socket for my CPAP machine. We were never able to get the t.v. to work either. There was not enough room between the table/chairs and the bed for a wheelchair to pass through. The toilet was so low to the ground that i could barely help get my friend off the toilet! We were not expecting to be forced to do this. Again we needed, requested and thought we had reserved a handicapped room which would have a higher seating toilet. I even had trouble getting myself up! The ice machine, another approx. 30feet from the room, was disgustingly dirty. I would sooner drive somewhere to get a bag of ice than take it from there. And should you desire a soda or cold drink, that machine was marked out of order. Pillows on the bed were mismatched. One was comfortable, one was not. FINAL RESULT: If you are in this area, there is not a plethora of choices. Were it not for the handicap issue, I suppose the room was clean enough that I would have given as much as three stars. But there should be a law against lack of accommodation for the disabled, especially when it was requested at time of making the reservation.

Not much to choose from around here,so,the back side of this place is a dump! Got crap piled up in the yard, around the fence,in the woods! Worn and very dated! I went to the store and bought RAID! Every day we come in,and roaches on the wall at sink! Will not be bringing my crew here again,we will drive 20 miles to a decent hotel!

    Family reunion

I do a lot of reviews so take this one seriously! DO NOT STAY HERE! I do not even give it 1 star! Dirty, dirty! Smells, everything in the room looks like it came from the goodwill or the dumpster! Broken headboard, shower towel rack, dark and depressing. There trash and just crap laying all over the yard in back. The pool was covered and closed in August! Its freaking 90 degrees out and humidity at 90% and the pool was closed for the year! the owners clearly have no money to make improvements and need to close! I cant believe TripAdvisor has it even on here! We stayed one night and I barley made it. Keep driving or go back to La grande Georgia its just 35mins. But well worth it! Scary place!

    Pass this one by

From the outside the Key West Inn looks nice, and the pictures on the internet look good - but after we checked in and entered our room, we noticed unhemmed curtains, broken and missing electrical coverplates, dirty floors and tables, miscellaneous wiring (connected to nothing) laying on the floor, and just sad looking furniture and appliances. Later the bedside lamp started blinking. Then when we pulled back the covers on the bed, we noticed crumbs and it appeared the linens had not been changed. There were even holes in the sheets. That was the last straw - we asked for another room. The manager on duty looked at our room and apologized for the condition and relocated us to another room. The second room was somewhat better, but had there been another local establishment to go to, we would have packed up and left. In the morning we went to see what they had for breakfast. On the coffee table in the lobby were magazines highlighting the owners family name on the cover of "Hospitality Magazine". If this is their version of hospitality, we are NOT interested. As I write this, we have checked into a wonderful Fairfield Inn in Panama City Beach. Tonight as I was changing into my PJ's, I noticed bites all over both arms. O o w w w, yuck! Bugs (that has never happened to us before and we stay at many hotels). Although I have since read other Trip Advisor reviews for this establishment that said maybe they don't have money to fix it up and should just close the place, we noticed the owners Lexis and BMW parked next to the hotel. AGAIN DON'T STAY HERE !!!
