  A lovely hotel and great restaurant and bar

  We were pleasantly surprised at how good this hotel was. The staff and restaurant were great. Recommend cushions for those cavernous lounges/chairs in the bar area. Unless you're tall, hard to get back support. The room was spacious and very comfortable (room 506), and the bed firm.

  Poor start but an ok stay.

  Fairly nice hotel but a very poor visit for us. No valet parking (apparently the porter was away?) and after passing the manager our bags who said he would move the bags into our room, we had to drive a block over to a carpark building before walking back to the hotel. Luckily we caught the one part of the day that wasnt raining. When we got back to the hotel we found our bags sitting unattended in the lobby right by the main entrance. Our electronics bag with MacBook, iPhones and various tech items was sitting right on the top. Feeling so blessed we didnt lose the lot to some opportunist passing by. Was told we could take our own bags up afterwards (had already guessed that one). Rooms were fairly nice. Washing machine and dryer available which was very handy. Apparently has a bottle store and gym but we didnt use these facilities. On a different day, had there been a full staff in attendance, maybe things would have been different, but as it happened I cant say our visit was very satisfactory.

  Great location

  This hotel has a great central location, free laundry for guests on the 5th floor and a great breakfast. The room had no air conditioning and a radiator was on in the hallway in summer making our room sweltering. The porter was absent so we were not offered valet parking. While we were across the road parking our vehicle we were told by the duty manager that our bags would be taken up to our room. When we returned we found our bags abandoned in the foyer unattended right by the front door to the street. We are lucky our bags were not stolen.

  Rude Manager

  Recently viewed hotel with a view to booking room Was shown couple of rooms by helpful member of staff. Asked if they took Gold Card discount but when lady enquired with a male, who appeared to be her manager, in a rude manner, infront of us he told her room was already cheap what did we expect. We couldnt believe his arrogant manner so stuff that wasnt staying there. As it turned out we booked into the Ascot Park Hotel wow what a place a million miles better than the kelvin and we got it cheaper.

  Paper thin walls

  Sadly I have stayed here before and had a great experience. This time it was awful as I discovered the walls are very thin and you can hear everything people are saying next door. On one side I had a really loud tv and on the other a mum with a screaming baby and two kids. Two nights of this was awful. Plus the toilet in this room was in a cupboard not in the bathroom. On my last morning there was no buffet so instead I had a very overpriced continental breakfast.
