Terribly disappointedI did send the innkeeper this review and got no response. That was even more disappointing. So I guess I will just go ahead and post this in hopes to save some people from also being disappointed. A few things I need to clarify first about this review. I am reviewing the room that we stayed in only not the overall inn which has a main building, several other smaller buildings, and this top floor suite The Kearsarge Suite over their restaurant Deacon Street that I unfortunately chose. Next thing I want to clarify is that I am a VERY seasoned traveler. I have been traveling worldwide for work and pleasure for over 25 years. I did read many reviews and this inn sounded darling. And the main house is darling. And I looked at a couple of the other rooms and they were darling. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. But this suite was dreadful. And I mean dreadful. I chose the Kearsarge Suite because their were four of us traveling. The suite had two bedrooms, one bedroom with two beds, a sleep sofa and a large living room. One bathroom wasnt great but we would deal. The rest of the inn is so darling when I opened the door to this suite I was shocked. The decor - well there was no decor. The bathroom had been redone and is very lovely. It looks just like the photos online. The rest of the furnishings looked like junk that they had left over and just shoved it all in this suite. All of it needs donated to the Salvation Army. It was like they redid the bathroom and then ran out of money or something. There were two bedrooms and ZERO luggage racks. The one blanket in my room wouldnt have used on a horse farm. I wouldnt have used the bedspreads on any of the three beds for anything than maybe a liner in my truck bed. My one friend told me afterwards that there were coffee stains on her pillows. And she could still smell the coffee! I was so embarrassed that I booked this room for myself and my friends that I didnt even know what to do. It would be perfect as a dormitory for 19 year old college kids but not as part of this darling inn. The sleep sofa was horrible with a mattress that was about 2 inches thick if that. My poor friend... There was a fridge but no microwave. The only sinks were in the bathroom. No coffee maker - you had to go down two flights of stairs back outside and across the lawn into the main building for coffee and ice (and a microwave). And coffee was only served until 8:00PM and no decaf at all. AND!!! THERE WERE NO CURTAINS ON ANY WINDOWS! There were only those old time pull down plastic blinds that let in lots of light including the three huge restaurant spotlights outside the king bedroom. I had to sleep with a pillow on my head! There were curtain holders up but no curtains! I have no idea why they are renting this suite. I asked if they had taken the curtains down to wash them and had forgotten to put them back up??? I guess not.... The rest of the inn seems so charming. There were beautiful valances and curtains in the other rooms I looked in. The decor was charming and beautiful. WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS SUITE? And be prepared to go up two flights of stairs to the suite. This wasnt a problem for us but it may be for many. Im not feeling great about writing this review. I like to write happy reviews. I feel like I got so ripped off. I dont want others to be disappointed by booking this suite. It was really awful AND it was the most expensive room. I would have left if we didnt arrive at 8:00PM after traveling since 4:00AM. Sigh. I wouldnt say dont stay at this inn. But I would absolutely say DO NOT BOOK THE KEARSARGE SUITE. If I were the owner/manager I would be embarrassed to book this suite to anyone as part of the rest of this otherwise lovely inn.

North Conway weekendThe Kearsarge Inn is a very nice place in a great location in North Conway. You're just five minutes around the corner from the town center. The management there is very friendly, and the place is attractive, clean, and the rooms have nice gas / fireplace style heaters. Only drawback is the walls are a tad thin, and beds are not exactly the height of comfort (they're "fine"), but overall this is a really nice place and we'd very happily come back to this hotel.

Wonderful One-Night StayThe large, tastefully decorated room more than suited my needs during my (regrettably) single night. Despite a booking screw-up, which the Inn generously resolved in my favor, check-in was painless and the location is perfect: just a block off the main drag and literally a stone's throw from a great restaurant, Deacon Street. I look forward to returning in the spring and making use of the rocking chairs on the front porch!
