Great place, great staff, great food. They care!

Despite the horrors of Thos Cook they remain supportive and pleasant here, but then we are Jet2!! God knows what hotels in general are facing with lots of empty TC rooms and no cash coming in. Laying off staff, closing smaller places and consolidating bigger venues?? Staff aren't complaining, just working away, being polite and open with guests.

    Lovely holiday

Just back from a lovely holiday in Stalis . This hotel is nice , clean and in a good location but was fairly basic really for its star rating . Beds are very uncomfortable , bathroom lethal with awful shower that goes everywhere , slippery floors and very high sided bath to climb into for shower . No tea and coffee making facilities which is unusual for hotel of this rating . Rooms very basic with not much storage other than wardrobe. We also had cleaners office right opposite us and banging and crashing of doors , buckets and general working day starting at 6:30 amwoke us up everyday . Stopped us laying in though and made the day start early . Hotel was also suffering from losing half its Thomas cook guests and due to this was shutting down early . Despite this and staff and management clearly being under pressure they did their best to give us a good holiday but everyday there were less and less staff , people, facilities and on the final few days the chairs and tables started to be packed away . There was no atmosphere in hotel at all so despite being all inclusive we just went out all day and evening into Stalis which is lovely .

Great food until Thomas Cook stopped sending German customers

Lovely clean hotel. Food great. Towels changed daily which was brilliant. Could not fault at all. When Thomas Cook went into liquidation so the German and other Eastern Europe were stopped from going the food turned a bit basic, replacing mushrooms at breakfast with onion rings when the mushrooms ran out??? Chicken drumsticks only served which I tried but found undercooked. If you like pork you'll be in your element All drinks are selfserve but very sugary and acidic

    Disgraceful and not 4 star

We visited this hotel from the 24th of september for 10 nights the all inclusive is the most basic we have ever known yes there was beer and wine on tap and very limited spirits day and evening after the thomas cook collapse two days into our holiday there was no daytime or evening entertainment one bar ran out of lager and we were told they weren't going to replace it staff got less and less with 1 barman who was lovely had to tend to two bars it was a joke snacks consisted of a few grapes cake and croissants the food was diabolical and clearly they werent replacing anything the hotel closed two days after we left people were miss informed and hadn't got a clue what was happening we were charged 50 euros for 6 hours to keep our room on for a late flight even though we didn't arrive until after 11 on the first night even though nobody was coming into the hotel and when approached management we were told if we didn't complain we could stay free in the room the hotel rooms were clean the shower or sink came back up through the drain the bathroom was like a swimming pool the shower over the bath was lethal the hotel itself lacked any atmosphere the jet2 rep was very unapproachable and confrontational and was encroaching on being rude we met some lovely people and had lovely weather but the collapse of another travel company even though we were travelling with jet 2 reflected on the overall holiday I would never return to the katrin hotel and bungalows again I could go on and on for example I have never had ants in my soft drinks and to be told this happens all the time from the bar staff was unacceptable this is still supposed to be 4 star

    Lovely hotel

We visited this hotel for a week from the 19th September. Therefore we were also there during the Thomas Cook collapse even though this did not affect us. The hotel and grounds were lovely with relaxing pool areas and charming staff. The hotel was quite quiet at this time, as was all of Stalis, but this did not affect the enjoyment of our stay. The food was plentiful and very good. Unless you are very fussy, there was always a good choice. The drinks were not as good, with only ouzo or raki and wine and beer available until 6 pm. However we did not go for the all inclusive drinks, so this did not bother us. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We were offered a room to shower in before our flight home, so found no need to pay for keeping our room on. Our room was a good size. The bathroom had been totally refurbished and was lovely but although we were travelling as a couple, we appeared to have a family room with bunk beds in the living space. There was no where to sit inside and a small but adequate balcony. However we did not go on holiday to such a beautiful place to spend it in our room. All in all, it was a very enjoyable holiday and I would hate to think that some of the negative reviews would put people off visiting this hotel. Well done to all the staff and keep up the good work.
