  Amazing ryokan

  We stayed 2 nights at this hotel in early May 2018. It is a beautiful facility staffed by very gracious and helpful people. We were very warmly welcomed and assisted. We chose a Japanese style room which was quite attractive with half board. The breakfast buffet was extensive and well prepared with both Japanese and Western-style dishes. The dinners were multi-course offerings of local specialties which were served by a young waitress who explained the various dishes. We also liked that at dinner there was ample space and privacy between tables which added to a calm and relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend Kasuien Minami. We have many pleasant memories of our time there. Note: There is also a shuttle between the ryokan and the local station (not the main Matsue station) so if you are traveling by train as we were, the ryokan is easily accessible this way. One can also take the local train to the main station and access a loop bus for sightseeing in Matsue.

  You will feel very pampered

  The first impression when on enters the hotel grounds is the beautifully manicured garden. As it was autumn, we saw some autumn leaves. The garden was anjoy to be in. The check in procedure was done at the sofa area of the lobby. The whole procedure was done seated and the process was quick. We were told we will be informed when dinner is ready. At about 6.30 pm, a hotel staff came knocking on our rooms to usher us to the dinner private room. This is what I called excellent service. There was an onsen on the ground floor and another one the 9th level of the hotel. We enjoyed both as the one on the ground floor offered us a garden view and the on at the 9th floor offered us the city view. Another pleasant onsen experience.

  Wonderful onsen experience

  Our friends chose this onsen for us and they chose well. while the onsen was very busy, the service was still great. Very clean, comfortable rooms. Comfortable futon. Excellent meal! Wish we had more time here. Great value

  Comfortable Room, Impressive Service and Delicious Dinner

  We were in a group of 3 and stayed at two Kumonone room type with twin beds and private indoor hot spring for one night. One room was very spacious and the other one was a little bit smaller. Both rooms had modern design, were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The service was superb.p The layout of the garden was impressive. We had dinner at the hotel. The Kaiseki multi-course dinner was very tasty, particularly the beef was delicious. The buffet breakfast had a wide selection of Western and Japanes food and were very tasty. We also enjoyed the public and indoor private hot spring. We had a wonderful stay in this hotel.

  Excellent service

  From the moment we arrived till we departed, excellent service from all the staff was experienced. A relaxed check in comfort accompanied by drinks. The rooms had so many facilities not seen in most hotels, e.g. the face wash, shaving foam and aftershave in addition to moisturiser and lotions for ladies. Complimentary Snacks & teabags were refreshed daily. The best experience was the keseki dinners we enjoyed on both nights. Besides the fresh ingredients, the two serving staff went out of their way to translate the ingredients so that we could understand. I hope that hotel management will convey the appreciation from all of us staying in 301-304. I attached a photo.
