  Amazing hot springs hotel

  I stayed for 3 nights In October with my family, and had a relaxing experience at this beautiful and peaceful hotel. Was upgraded to a room with a private open air bath which we used often. In addition the hotel onsen is beautiful too and not busy. Staff was friendly and helpful, also enjoyed the breakfasts and happy hours. Would stay here again!

  Nice room and bad food

  Stayed 2 nights in this hotel during the month of May in 2019. The room provided was spacious and clean. The bed also very comfortable but the dinner was truly disappointed for both nights. Both breakfast and dinner are below average. I still can remember clearly that the chicken given during dinner time was dry and tasteless. I was unable to finish the meals for both days as the food was bad. The worst hotel meals I ever eat in Japan. Suggested they send their chef for further training.

  Nice

  Nice hotel. Guess its one of the few international hotel chain in karuizawa area. Few km from town center. But I drove, so consider near :p Check in was real fast. Didnt package in the breakfast. Kinda ex. Surprisingly Room is quite large and comes with all the amenity in the bathroom. Nice clean pleasant. Will visit here again.

  Consistent with Service

  Revisited this hotel in early/mid February after a stay in December. Both stays were very consistent in service. No hiccups at all. Staff were friendly throughout our stay both times. Staff smiles and very eager to help if you needed anything. Room was very clean as well. Hard to find any fault. Having an onsen in the room was particularly pampering. Heated flooring in some rooms. Breakfast at the cafe was with a good spread. However, I think it was the only restaurant in the hotel. Shuttle service to ski slopes and outlet mall was free and good to have. Thank you to all staff for making our stay both times very enjoyable.

  Great Staycation at Karuizawa

  Our small family had a great time at Marriot Karuizawa. We came to get away for a long weekend and get out of Tokyo for a while as well as going to the outlet mall for some shopping. The staff were really helpful and friendly at every encounter we had with them. We had breakfast included as well as drinks and snacks during the evening as we were premium Marriott members so that was a lovely touch and we also asked for a late check out which had no extra charge attached. The breakfast buffet was huge and very extensive with everything from a full cooked western breakfast to Japanese style breakfast, noodles, waffles, donuts (that my son enjoyed) breads and fruits. As this was during Covid there were precautions like wearing masks and gloves when visiting the buffet and sneeze shields over everything so we felt safe and the staff were also there to help out if needed. We snacked during the early evening and had some drinks at the lounge so we only needed a few small meals to share for dinner and all of them were of a 5 star hotel standard. We enjoyed the onsen every night we were there as it was very nicely decorated and the baths were very clean and well maintained. Inside and outside (rotenburo) baths.The rooms were of a good size with all the amenities that one would expect for a Marriott and the beds were very comfortable and warn There was also some free parking at the hotel that we took advantage of. Thanks again to all the staff for our fantastic stay!!
