I recommend this hotelStayed here for 9 days. Nice hotel, staff welcoming, nice pool areas to choose from and location good. I found something to eat every day because my food tastes are vary varied at home anyway, unlike some people that have a nervous breakdown if they don't see chips burger and pizzas every mealtime. Air conditioning was fabulousand room nice, Drinks were in small plastic cups which was a pain to be honest but other than that i recommend this hotel and will be back.

Excellent value for moneyI had reservations about this hotel based on previous reviews but I shouldn't have worried. I will definitely come again. Pros Food - If you are willing to try a bit of something different you'll enjoy it. Had a lovely moussaka as good as any restaurants. Hubby loved all the filo pies. Not a massive choice but certainly enough to put a nice meal together Staff - always pleasant and polite. Shout out to Michael at the back pool (hope to see you next time :) Rooms - comfortable and adequate (even though it was not one of the upgraded rooms) the bed was comfortable and air con good. Location - good and central Cons - the shower left a lot to be desired. Sometimes not even enough flow to wash my hair. - hairdryer didn't work In all I think the Karras Grande has listened to feedback as many of the old issues seem to have been resolved (mixers out of bottles are now on tap). No entertainment - Dave has now lots going on though the day. Considering the price this is an excellent hotel and I was very pleasantly surprised. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Point only knocked off due to the crap shower.

Needs a lot of work....now!!!I do not often post a bad review but sadly I need to in this case. Currently staying here (3 days into our holiday) and experiencing several problems. The first of which is the hotel, advertised as 4* but is definitely not. 3* at best. Also a lack of sun beds. Hotel management tell us that several are broken and have gone for repair but if you read back through many earlier Trip Adviser reviews, it is the same problem unresolved so basically we are being fobbed off. If there are not enough sun beds, the hotel should replace or hire some. Hotel policy requests that guests do NOT reserve sun beds before 09:00 but clearly people take no notice. The hotel should enforce its rule and empower someone to remove any towels placed before 09:00 but they dont. They could also lock away the beds til 09:00, either way, they need to sort it. This hotel is advertised as all inclusive but in reality it is not. They advertise 2 restaurants but you can only use the a la carte restaurant once for free and then you have to pay 25 each for subsequent visits which restricts you to just one place where you can get all your meals. There is also a rooftop bar which is only open to guests who wish to pay for premium brand drinks. You cannot take drinks from the all inclusive bar and just use the seating area. This is false advertising and I shall be reporting it to trading standards once I get home. We asked the barman why and his response was basically they pay me to be here so its not my problem. There is no inside bar (unless it rains). After reading the reviews before we arrived I emailed to make sure we had refurbished rooms, the management emailed back to confirm all rooms are refurbished.... ours are not. Some Hotel management here just couldnt care less about customer service, others are willing to listen but take no action. At the end of the day this is a Jet2 hotel and all guests should be treated with the same respect as on their flights. We are currently in talks with our Jet2 rep (Jess) who is brilliant & doing her best to help us reach a compromise. Until all the issues here are resolved I would advise staying elsewhere. Abandon hope all ye who enter here

Great hotel, doing the best they can in a pandemicWe went to the Karras as a last-minute decision on 1st August when the Canaries got taken off the travel list and it was a great result. The hotel is a short transfer from the airport and due to the refurbishment, everything looks brand new and super clean. We had room 408 and it was amazing. Two separate bedroom areas with a screen between, powerful air conditioning and a massive bathroom with a gorgeous walk in shower. The hotel had only been open for a couple of weeks so they were getting used to the new COVID restrictions, but we felt very safe and that everywhere was clean. There were a lot of people moaning about the food and the restaurant but we found no problem with it at all. Yes, its not the same as a usual buffet when you have to queue up and the waiter gets your food but thats not their fault. I agree that the food could have been labelled a bit better to speed up the process of choosing I suggest them putting a menu at the start so you can already decide what you wanted. As a vegan, I always found something tasty to try and my partner (who will eat anything and everything) regularly went back for second portions. The drinks were tasty and for those who like them strong, will suit you. The entertainment wasnt brilliant but it is a small hotel in a pandemic. The main highlight of the hotel is the staff. They work tirelessly to make the best they can of a bad circumstance. The chaps on the bars and the restaurants always had a smile and a welcome for you even when other guests were being, frankly, vile to them. The location is fab being a few minutes walk to the local area (Planos) where there are many good bars and restaurants, a few minutes to the beach (go to Freddies Beach Bar) and about 15 minutes from the centre of Tsilivi which is much livelier. We loved it and are planning to go back next August (fingers crossed!) I'd give 5* for the staff and the hotel itself and 4* for the food set up and the entertainment - so I'm saying 5* overall as they made us feel special.

Food not fit for eatingWe paid £4000 for an all-inclusive fortnight at Karras Grande which is supposed to be 4 star. They had Covid restrictions in place in the dining room where you walked along the food with a waiter, and he served the food. Totally understandable. There was very little choice and half of the trays empty leaving a choice of 2 or 3 meals. All of which were stone cold, and barely cooked. When we complained, the waiter offered to put it in the microwave (??). We tried the restaurant for the next few days, and it was the same cold food every day. From day one we were unable to eat their food, and spoke to a lot of other guests who had to eat out. Contacted our rep daily, and were promised it would change. We even contacted our holiday firm in the UK at their head office every day, as we were burning through money that we didnt expect to have to spend. Nothing changed. We went to reception and demanded to see the hotel manager, who was sat in the back office in view. The manager closed her door, and told the receptionist to lie by saying she wasnt in. Such a stressful holiday that, on day 12, i had a heart attack in my hotel room, and the rep called an ambulance. While i was in hospital, my partner still had to check out of the hotel on day 14. I ended up staying in zante an extra 3 weeks until i was fit to fly home. I have complained to the holiday company, and the hotel have rejected my claim as they blame Covid for the food. Funnily enough, Covid didnt affect any of the restaurants that we were forced to eat out at.
