AwfulOld fashion B&B and smelly rooms, awful beds and pillows, you can only take shower if you are a super skinny guy!!! Friendly staff and fairly good location though! Close to train, bus, markets and shopping centre. Overall, there are more better places to stay in there.

Good and recommendedGreat customer service. The staff was very nice and they replied to my requests quickly. What I liked also the free traffic card (bus, subway, and tram etc..). My room was relatively big with a nice window and a small balcony overlooking the other side of the building.

Dusseldorf is lovelyWe decided to visit Dusseldorf, well having been before and loved it I thought my partner should go. We travelled by train using Eurostar to Brussels and onwards with DB. The journey was amazing, so much more relaxing than waiting around at airports. I really recommend doing that. Check it out, it could well be cheaper too, we saved over £200.00. Hotel Karolinger looks so much better in the pictures, We were quite disappointed on our arrival. The staff were lovely, and the place is very clean but needs a bit of decorating and TLC. Our room likewise was clean but plain, no hot drinks, just a mini bar. and two single beds pushed together, not so good. The shower was tiny and not enough space to use the toilet comfortably. Having said all this it is in a great location for the city and they give you unlimited public transport as part of your room cost. UBahn, Strassenbahn, buses and trains are no more than two minutes walk away. So the city centre and the AltStadt take about 10 minutes. Dusseldorf is a clean well laid out city with great shopping and so much to do. A visit to the Konigsallee is a must for shopping with several covered arcades with prices in some cases quite high but all tastes catered for well. 5 minutes from Konigsalle on OstStrasse is Brauerei Schumacher, wonderful German food and the most amazing Alter brewed on site. I renewed my love of eisbein and herrings. the old town is 5 minutes the other side of the Konidsallee and is full of bars and restaurants catering for tastes from all corners of the world. in its centre is the old town hall, a beautiful old building. Little further takes you on to the bank of the Rhine with more bars and shops. The Schlossturm is the last remaining building of the old castle and is wonderful to see. There are museums and other attractions dotted all over, try the Stadtmuseum, we loved it. At the end of the day, there are several restaurants on the Rhine serving good food (Try the fish) while watching the sun set over the river. Dusseldorf 100% We love it.

Good and badI'm sure you'll find something nicer in the same money. I had a single pers. room but the bed was big enough. You have a minibar, tv with most of the channels in german and .. that's it. This summer you'll have a construction site vis a vis so take a room on the other side (if it's possible). Room is small and you'll feel this when you use wc or you need more shelfs for clothes. And I would work a little bit at cleaning. Room is clean where you look but when you leave and check for things so you don't forget them, maybe you'll find some others under the bad. But not yours :). But if you just visit the room 2-3 hours/day and stay 3 -4 days, it's ok. Taking also free tickets (bus, tram, vrr tariff) into consideration :).
