  my recent holiday in Sunny Beach Bulgaria

  I'm back from a recent trip to Bulgaria, and Wow! what a good time we had, we rented an apartment in Karolina Complex, the food in general is good here in Sunny beach/ Nessiebar, the drink is cheap and the local Lager isn't bad, and at 2.50 BGN a pint ( in the cocktail bar in Karolina ) how could you complain, ( that works ou at around E1.40 ) as Iv'e said the food is very good, ( Avoid the Beef ) fish is great and at 10.00bgn for a whole large sea bass, which is delicious! and if you also go for Sote potatoes with Garlic and dill it's just mouth waytering! the Lamb is good as is the pork and chicken, they are past masters at creating the most gorgeous Salads in all of the restaurants we visted, and what's better after a long hard day in the Sun but a lovely meal washed down with a bottle of wine (or two) and then off to the local pub, John Smiths, for a few scoops, where Bobby host's the Karoke and has just about every song ever sung! stay there until around 3 or 4 in the morning and sing your heart out, then back to our apt for a few hrs kip before we do it all again! there are some Classy restaurants in the Centre ( A bit dearer than where we are) but with the service and the ambiance theyr'e well worth the trip, you can get there by the mini train, Bus or Taxi(, but agree on a price before you get in the car ) the Centre is a bit Wild noisy and crowded at night and of course if you find an (alledgedly) Irish bar they will be playing Ear bustingly loud music, which I find damages my Ears , ( just like Irish DJs and Groups) Nessiebar is a great little old world village, with lots of Bars and Restaurants, and little shops selling just about everyting imaginable, some great open air entertainment during the day where everyone can join in and take part, dancing, singing, It's great! we traveled with ASL airlines( Charter flight ) flight was good only complaint was it took too long to get a drink or something to eat, mainly due to a staff shortage I think, but very comfortable though. we have allready booked our apt and flight's for 2018 where we are going for three weeks, looking forward to it.

  Restaurant food lovely and service exceptional

  Came to the Restaurant based at Hotel karolina as per a recommendation. Food was lovely, spicey mexican prawns were lovely. Service by Ross was exeptional especially as we had not had good service since arriving in Bulgaria. Highly recommend.

  Service minded Staff but unimpressive food.

  My girlfriend and I stayed there for 7 nights last week. Room was nice, a little smaller than we expected. Small refrigerator but okay for our needs. It is not allowed to bring food and drink to the room we were told even though there were 4 supermarkets close by. The logic behind that is beyond our comprehension.The bathroom could need a makeover with brown marks in the tiles and minor cracks in the sink. Breakfast was boring and with small variations from day to day. Only with the usual necessities when it comes to bread,ham and sausages for example. The scrambled eggs were incredibly moist and tasteless. The plates were also small and filled with scratchmarks. We also tried their dinner buffet which contained local cuisine as well. But i have never in my life eaten dinner that is made with less passion. It was barely warm and tasteless. The pizza was the worst wich tasted like dough with smelted cheese. And if you wanted something to drink with the dinner, you needed to get that in the bar yourself. No one informed us about that. We will not be going back this hotel even though the staff was friendly and helpful.

  Very Poor hotel

  We have just moved from this hotel we booked for 11 nights, and after suffering 9 of those nights we decided to move. The hotel has much potential but unfortunately there is very little being done by staff to create this. Upon check in we were greeted by a very impolite young man with poor English, we explained we had booked with booking.com but he kept insisting that we produce a voucher from a holiday company, eventually after much persuasion he eventually found our booking. We had booked a double room but once we got to the room it was two single beds, we were so tired and really couldnt be bothered at this stage that we just pushed the two single beds together. I specifically booked this hotel as it advertised a fitness centre, the first morning I went to the fitness centre where I was charged 5 leave to discover no machines were working, I complained in the centre and was told to go to reception, I went to reception to be basically laughed at and told it was not their problem take it up with the fitness centre. After one week I went back to see were the machines working a grumpy young lady looked up from her phone and gruffly responded no and looked back at her phone! Breakfast is quite poor also, very poor selection of fresh fruit or healthy alternatives. In this day and age I feel fresh fruit and healthy breakfast alternatives are a must in a so called four star hotel! All there was as a healthy option was unripe oranges and black bananas some mornings. The staff were extremely rude, I noticed one man who was replenishing the food shout at guests and pushed one lady out of the way! The hotel had reviews about a restaurant which was apparently nice but does not open until the 1st of August according to bar staff. Hand written threatening signs about bringing in outside food and drink resonate all around the hotel, making for a hostile, unwelcoming atmosphere. The sheets were not changed over the course of 9 nights, we were often left with no toilet roll once the room had been serviced and had to take it from the trolley ourselves. The room was rarely hoovered also. The only plus I can give are the friendly bar staff at the pool bar. My advice pick anywhere else, this hotel is a disgrace !

  Great place and location!

  The rooms were very clean, beds comfortable and the staff very positive and helpful. Great location - very close to the beach, close to the beach night clubs, close to a big supermarket, close to the Old town of Nesebar (20 min walk), close to Sunny beach (30 min walk). I highly recommend it!
