WORST HOTEL IV EVER STAYED IN!!

I've never written a review before but felt the need to warn people about this hotel. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! First of all, when getting a taxi from the airport to the hotel, at least 6 taxi drivers were called over to give directions as KARMA hotel wasn't heard of and after half an hour of driving round and calling reps we found it was known still as Uni Sharm. When we arrived at the hotel it was down a side road rather dodgy and had the worst excuse of security (An old wooden metal detector that didn't work) but we laughed this off and went to the room. It took the man at least 5 minutes to get our room door open and when it was finally open the room was dark and dirty with empty shampoo wrappers still in the shower, no handle on the bathroom door and brown water coming out the taps. We were on the ground floor with (garden view) which meant looking onto the back of scruffy old shops. If this wasn't bad enough there was a huge gap under the door were the plastic had fallen off and big ants were coming through. I had read reviews which has said lovely staff and lovely food which was one of the main reasons we went a head with the booking but i cant believe how wrong people were. The choice for the dinner was disgusting and compared to the hotel we were moved to it was laughable with the size of the selection. I read somewhere that this hotel had 3 bars, this is the biggest lie as it only had one and it was tiny and the drinks were so warm that we didn't even bother to drink them. After a long day of travelling we decided not to make a fuss and to have an early night before speaking to the rep in the morning. But we weren't able to do this as people were running up and down the corridors banging on doors all through the night and if this wasn't bad enough the constant flushing of our toilet went on alongside. The next morning we were told to meet the rep who would be with us at 10am. After waiting an hour we gave up and went back to the room as nobody was sitting out or sunbathing. I then had to keep phoning home to find a number for an emergency rep who could get us moved to a reasonable hotel which ended up costing me a £250 phone bill. Thank you to George at Egyptra who came out to me and with an extra cost moved me to probably the best hotel I could of asked for in Egypt. Without George I would have been on the next flight back home and my holiday would have been ruined.

    Bad state of disrepair

This hotel is in dire need of refurbishment which makes it look dirtier than it probably is. Disappointed with the single bar running out of beer on regular occurrence during my all inclusive stay. Food was below average standard and breakfast being very poor (omelette or salad). This being said the staff were fairly helpful and friendly.

    Such an average

I've booked room via AMOMA. I've got a call from AMOMA to confirm my booking and all went good. I knew resort aren't the best and even not good. So I was prepared to stay. Arrived to Sharm at 3am. 10$ on the note board for early check in. They ask for 100£ (eg) even though I was willing to pay in noted currency. So, 100£ it is 12$. Feel the difference? Further I've noted that it is everywhere here. Room. First three nights I've spent in R111. Disappointed. Old, rotten and dirty room. TV didn't work, rest room was disgusting, dirty and smell old. Fridge has block of ice in it like it was open ages ago last time. My booking was double bed(even though I travel solo). I've got twin room. In the morning I try to speak to the manager but he had no clue about my reservation at all. I need to call AMOMA to make this guy sure that I legal in hotel. All it took two days. Then they moved me to 108. Better view and shower but it was twin again. Food awful. Sorry to say that but you don't run hotel or place called the hotel with school-like canteen. There is no choice. Breakfast everyday Sam, same for dinner. So, if you going to book the room just get BB. Spend your time for dinner somewhere else. I had a cold for few days and went reception to ask to get a honey and lemon. So, I can fix myself for the morning dive. No. No chance. Overall hotel staff don't care about the guest. Unless guest will went off the mood. No uniforms. No name tags. Who is who there you'll never know. The location of the hotel it is probably best of it. I'm diver, so I spend only nights at the room and sometimes little for breakfast. I will probably comeback there if will have the same budget. But again my expectation will be low. Highlight: if you need place to crush and no one bother you and spend a little - go for it. I must admit even 5 star hotels in Sharm aren't really 5 star. So low your expectations.

    Not as bad as thought

After reading the reviews running up to our holiday we thought what have we done but on arriving the place looked fine the staff were very helpful took us to our room which was ok looking out over the pool which was clean same as surrounding area the sunbeds and parasols need replacing but we're still useable. There is one bar which is open for AI until 10 which is a shame. The food was much the same everyday so got a bit boring towards the end of our holiday. But al in we were very happy as we wanted a budget holiday and that's exactly what we got.

    Lovely Egypt

It was my first trip abroad (holydays in warm and sunny country), back in 2009... Me and my wife were dreaming about Egypt, and it really was good time. Then this hotel has name Uni Sharm, it is a budget hotel, worth money paid for it. Staff was friendly, one shortage - it is far from the sea.
